Former Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 Nelly Korda and 72-time LPGA Tour winner Annika Sorenstam wrapped up 2025 with berths in the PNC Championship, which is annually held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

Korda teed it up alongside her father, Petr, who is a former professional tennis player and was ranked as high as second in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals during his career.

The father-daughter duo tied for fourth with a two-day total of 25-under after finishing eight strokes behind champions Matt and Cameron Kuchar, who won the PNC Championship for the first time by seven shots. The Kordas opened with a 60 in the day-one scramble, carding one eagle and 10 birdies, seven of which came consecutively from Nos. 5 to 11.

Nelly and Petr then backed their 60 up with a 59 in the second round, a score that saw the pair record two eagles on the par-5 3rd and par-5 18th holes and make nine birdies to come in T4 alongside Steve and Izzi Stricker. Both the Kordas and the Strickers were one shot away from tying for second place with Team Love and Team Daly.

“I can't believe it's been our fifth. Oh, my gosh,” Nelly said in a press conference ahead of the week. “For me, it's a great way to end the year, to play alongside my dad. Those are core memories that you get to look back on for the rest of your life. I have been so lucky, we've been so lucky enough to play with Lee Trevino a couple of times during this event. How many times can someone of my generation really say that?

“The event brings on such amazing memories, and getting to do that alongside my dad, there is no better way to end the year than that.”

Sorenstam once again partnered with her son, Will McGee, for the PNC Championship, and the LPGA Hall of Famer and her 14-year-old finished 18th in the longstanding parent-child competition after posting at 16-under overall.

The Lake Nona residents kicked off their week with a solid 61 in the first round after notching 11 birdies on Saturday, five of which they recorded consecutively from holes four to eight. Annika and Will then faded a bit late, posting a 5-under 67 in the day-two scramble to close out the tournament.

But no matter where they ultimately finish, the chance to play alongside each other in a competitive setting is an opportunity the mother and son never take for granted, as that shared experience is something that always makes the PNC Championship special for Annika and Will.

“I always like being inside the ropes,” Will said in the pair’s pre-tournament press conference. “I watch the PGA Tour each week and like, oh, that course looks so much fun to play. Being inside the ropes is a lot of fun, and being alongside (my mom) makes it even better.”

Annika echoed her son’s sentiment. “This is the highlight of the year for us, of course, to be able to play together, to be part of this event,” the 10-time major champion said. “As you know, there are some great teams here, and the atmosphere is just fun. I love walking inside the ropes with Will. I will say that my game is probably similar. His game has gotten a lot better. It's fun to watch him and see him blossom and be up front, a front seat.”

Both Korda and Sorenstam are currently committed to play in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in 2026, which annually serves as the LPGA Tour’s season-opener. Korda will be in the LPGA division, while Sorenstam, who is a member of Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, will compete as part of the celebrity division.
