The BMW Ladies Championship is taking place in the Republic of Korea this week on the LPGA Tour and is being held for the very first time at Pine Beach Golf Links. Because it’s a new venue for the Tour’s top talent and there has never been a repeat winner of this tournament since it joined the LPGA schedule in 2019, picking a champion might be a bit trickier than usual this week. Here are three athletes to consider watching as they compete in one of the final few tournaments of the 2025 LPGA Tour season.

Lottie Woad

Lottie Woad is one of the favorites in the field at the BMW Ladies Championship, even though the 2025 rookie is making her tournament debut at Pine Beach Golf Links. The 21-year-old turned pro and joined the LPGA after qualifying for membership via the new LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway program with a T3 finish at The Amundi Evian Championship.

The Englishwoman then became a Rolex First-Time Winner in her first professional start at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, beating Hyo Joo Kim by three strokes at Dundonald Links. That win is one of five top-15 results Woad has recorded in LPGA Tour events this season, the most recent of which is a solo third that she posted at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G in September.

Woad doesn’t have enough rounds under her belt just yet for statistical data to validate how good she has been playing since joining the LPGA Tour in July. But the finishes she has tallied and how quickly she found the winner’s circle on the LPGA Tour in Scotland provide a strong case as to why Woad can be a contender each week at the game’s highest level.

Sei Young Kim

Republic of Korea native Sei Young Kim is another athlete who’s hard to ignore at the BMW Ladies Championship. This is her 19th event of the 2025 LPGA Tour season, and in her 18 starts ahead of this week at Pine Beach, she has carded a whopping seven top-10 results, the most recent of which is a tie for fifth that came at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G in Ohio.

This is her sixth start in this tournament since 2019, and Kim has earned two top 20s in her five prior appearances at the BMW Ladies Championship – a tie for ninth that came in 2019 and a tie for 17th that came in 2022.

Looking at KPMG Performance Insights data, Kim is ranked inside the top 20 of three strokes gained categories this season, including strokes gained around the green (16, +0.30), strokes gained total (18, +1.28) and strokes gained tee to green (20, +1.04). The 32-year-old, who is 21st in the Rolex Rankings and 18th in the Race to the CME Globe, is additionally leading the Tour in par-5 scoring average (4.56), tied for third in putts per green in regulation (1.74) and fourth in greens hit from the fairway percentage (82.82 percent).

Allisen Corpuz

Allisen Corpuz is one of the dark horses to keep an eye on at the BMW Ladies Championship. This is the Hawaii native’s fourth straight appearance in this tournament, and in her three previous starts, she has finished in the top 25 each time, tying for 17th in 2022, tying for 22nd in 2023 and tying for 18th in 2024.

Corpuz has made the cut in 16 of the 22 tournaments in which she has competed this season and earned three top-15 finishes, the best of which is a solo third that came at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass and the most recent of which is a tie for 14th that she recorded in her home state at the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei.

And it’s because of her Hawaiian heritage and familiarity with playing in the wind because of it that might give Corpuz an edge this week in Korea.

The 2025 BMW Ladies Championship venue, Pine Beach Golf Links, is situated right on the coast, and the wind will likely be a factor throughout the week for the 78-player field, as is typical for golf facilities that are nestled near the ocean.

Corpuz became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally at Pebble Beach Golf Links, to which Pine Beach bears a striking resemblance. Couple that fact with her accuracy both off the tee and with her approach play – Corpuz is fifth in greens in regulation (75.08 percent) and 15th in driving accuracy (77.74 percent) – and the 27-year-old looks promising to be a contender for the BMW Ladies Championship title come Sunday in Korea.
