With her win at The Standard Portland Classic, Akie Iwai joined her twin sister Chisato as the 10th Rolex First-Time Winner of the 2025 LPGA Tour season and is the sixth different rookie to win on Tour this year at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. The sisters are also the fourth different set of siblings to pick up at least one title during their LPGA careers, joining a list that includes several of female golf’s most notable names.

Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam

Sweden’s Annika Sorenstam is considered to be one of the best female golfers of all time, collecting 72 titles throughout her LPGA career, 10 of which were major championships. She is an eight-time Rolex Player of the Year honoree and six-time Vare Trophy recipient, as well as an LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member. Annika has racked up over $22.5 million in career earnings, currently the most money earned by any single athlete in the history of the LPGA Tour.

Her younger sister Charlotta joined the Tour in 1997 and won her first and only title in 2000 at the Standard Register PING, the same event Annika would go on to shoot 59 at a year later. Charlotta made over $1.5 million in official money and tallied 23 career top-10 results and 61 top-25 finishes in her time actively competing.

Nelly and Jessica Korda

Nelly and Jessica Korda are one of the most famous sister-sister duos to ever compete on Tour. Jessica first became a member of the organization in 2011 and has amassed six career victories, the most recent of which is the 2021 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She teed it up in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has been a member of three U.S. Solheim Cup Teams and made over $7.6 million in official earnings.

Nelly is a 15-time LPGA Tour winner, collecting seven of those titles in 2024 alone, five of which came in five consecutive starts. She has earned two major victories thus far, doing so at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2024 Chevron Championship, and also won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, which were contested in 2021.

Nelly has been ranked No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings for over 100 weeks at different points throughout her career and has represented the U.S. in four Solheim Cups. She qualified for the Paris Olympics and earned both Rolex Player of the Year honors and the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award in 2024.

Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn

Thailand natives Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn have 15 LPGA Tour titles between them at the moment. Ariya has won 12 times throughout her career, the most notable of which are her victories at the 2016 AIG Women’s Open at Woburn and the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open at Shoal Creek. Moriya has three wins on her LPGA resume, the most recent of which came in 2024 at The Standard Portland Classic.

But unlike the other sisters on this list, the Jutanugarns share one of their official victories, as the siblings famously won the Dow Championship as playing partners back in 2021. The win was Ariya’s 12th career title and second of that season, as she had triumphed at the Honda LPGA Thailand during the spring Asian swing, and it was Moriya’s second time hoisting an LPGA Tour trophy and her first since the 2018 Hugel-JTBC LA Open.

Akie and Chisato Iwai

Japanese rookie Akie Iwai had a couple of runner-up performances early in her inaugural LPGA Tour campaign, but her twin sister Chisato beat her to the punch, picking up her first career victory at the inaugural MEXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Chisato won by six strokes that week over Jenny Bae in Playa del Carmen, Mexico to become the fifth Rolex First-Time Winner of the 2025 season.

Akie finally matched the tally in her sister’s win column in Portland, Ore., winning The Standard Portland Classic by four strokes over Gurleen Kaur to join Chisato as the 10th different Rolex First-Time Winner this year. She is also the 22nd different player to win in 21 events this season and is the 22nd different player from Japan to capture at least one LPGA Tour victory in the history of the organization. Akie is additionally the fifth different Japanese athlete to win on Tour in 2025.
