SEOUL, Republic of Korea — The Sweden Team played the World Team in the final session of four-ball matches on Saturday at the 2025 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. Sweden needed to sweep their matches to secure a spot in the semifinals, while the World Team needed just a half-point to move on to Sunday play in the Republic of Korea.

Madelene Sagstrom/Ingrid Lindblad vs. Brooke Henderson/Wei-Ling Hsu

Score: World Team wins 4 and 3

The World Team’s Brooke Henderson and Wei-Ling Hsu remained undefeated on Saturday at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown, winning their match, 4 and 3, over the Swedish duo of Madelene Sagstrom and Ingrid Lindblad to advance their squad to the Sunday semifinals.

Hsu birdied the first hole to put the World Team 1-up early, but Sweden leveled the score after winning the par-5 fourth hole. The match remained tied until Henderson and Hsu won No. 8 to get back to 1 up. They extended their advantage to two when Hsu birdied the par-4 ninth hole and landed another blow when Henderson birdied the par-3 13th hole to go 3 up with five holes to play.

The World Team then took the par-5 14th hole to climb to 4 up, and when Sagstrom and Lindblad couldn’t do anything more than tie Henderson and Hsu on 15, the Canadian and Chinese Taipei native won the match, 4 and 3, to finish the four-ball session with a 2-0-1 record as partners.

“(It was) definitely very fun. Winning (is) definitely not a bad thing,” said Hsu. “I think me and Brooke really do a good job these three days. When we need each other, she would jump up for me, and I would jump up for her, so it worked out really well.”

Henderson, who has been incredibly hungry to participate in a biennial team competition like the International Crown, was just as pleased as her partner with the pair’s performance over the first three sessions and is already looking forward to the Sunday semifinals at New Korea Country Club.

“I've been waiting a long time for the World Team to come true, and I am just so grateful to be a part of this team,” Henderson said. “It's been an incredible opportunity so far. I love my partner here. (Wei-Ling) bailed me out a lot here today, and she played amazing all week. It's been so much fun, and I'm really excited for tomorrow.”

Maja Stark/Linn Grant vs. Charley Hull/Lydia Ko

Score: Sweden wins 3 and 1

Sweden’s Maja Stark and Linn Grant took down Charley Hull and Lydia Ko of the World Team on day three of four-ball play at the 2025 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown.

Hull and Ko won the first two holes to go 2 up early on the Swedes, but Stark and Grant got a shot back when Stark birdied the par-3 sixth hole to get back to 1 down. They won the par-4 10th hole to tie the match, and Stark and Grant then flipped it when they won the 12th hole to move to 1 up on Hull and Ko.

A Stark birdie on the par-5 14th hole at New Korea Country Club put the Swedish duo 2 up with four holes to play, and Stark and Grant closed out Hull and Ko, 3 and 1, when they took the 17th hole to emerge victorious.

Because the first Sweden-World match was won by Brooke Henderson and Wei-Ling Hsu of the World Team, Stark and Grant’s point was inconsequential. The Sweden Team finished the week with 2.5 points in Pool B and did not advance to the Sunday semifinal matches.
