Five student-athletes awarded $5,000 scholarships to pursue higher education and leadership in golf and beyond

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Nov. 18, 2025 – The LPGA Foundation is proud to announce the next class of Leadership Academy Scholars, recognizing five exceptional young women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, academic achievement, and athletic excellence. Each scholar will receive a $5,000 scholarship to support their college education, continuing the Foundation’s commitment to fostering the next generation of female leaders.

The LPGA Leadership Academy Scholarship is designed to inspire, cultivate, and support young women from diverse backgrounds in pursuit of higher education and future leadership roles. The scholarship recipients were selected from participants in the LPGA Leadership Academy, a transformational program that empowers young women by providing tools to help them thrive both on and off the golf course.

Meet the 2025 LPGA Leadership Academy Scholars:

Anisleidy Chavez graduated from South Dade Senior High School in Florida, where she played varsity and competitive golf all four years and received the Varsity Athletic Award.

2024 Prep Tour Top 4 Player of the Year and 2023 Top 5 Player of the Year
Secured 3 wins overall after competing in 22 golf tournaments in 2024, finishing with 8 top 5 finishes
Served as an LPGA*USGA Girls Golf eLeader, coach and mentor for over 5 years and a First Tee Volunteer
Learned self-assurance, composure and confidence in her everyday life after attending the LPGA Leadership Academy in Michigan sponsored by DOW
Is attending Boston College and will be a first-generation college student
Plans to pursue a biology or Neurology Major with a business minor to follow her dreams of becoming a Physician’s Assistant

Carina Benavides graduated from Pearland High School in Texas, where she played varsity golf, leading her team to Regional and State Qualifiers for three years and UIL District 23-6A Champions in 2023.

Served in leadership as Co President of Interact Club, Junior Mentor with First Tee Greater Houston, and Young Leader with Asia Society Texas Center
Gained robust leadership expertise that benefitted her in school, golf, and volunteer services through the LPGA Leadership Academy in California sponsored by Acer
Will major in Environmental Sciences at Texas A&M University
Hopes to pursue a career in Microplastic Research and Environmental Policy, while traveling the world, presenting her research and learning from others

Morgan Madison graduated from Second Baptist Upper School in Texas, where she served as a multisport athlete on the Varsity Golf and Varsity Cheer team.

Outstanding involvement in Varsity Gymnastics, Black Student Union and as the Underclassmen Representative for her high school Dance Club
Serves as LPGA*USGA Girls Golf eLeader, First Tee of Greater Houston ACE Mentor, and PGA Jr. League Member
Found value in using words of affirmation to power through difficult times at the LPGA Leadership Academy in Nashville
Will play collegiate golf at Loyola University in New Orleans
Plans to study Marketing and Pre-Med, with hopes of becoming a certified anesthesiologist assistant

Sabrina Lo graduated from Ranney School in New Jersey, where she served as a multisport athlete as Captain of the Varsity Golf team and on the Varsity Winter Track and Field team.

Served as student President for Girls in STEM, FBLA, Habitat for Humanity, served as the School Tour Guide and was a member of the National, English, Math, and Spanish Honor Societies
Served as a member of the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf eLeader Board of Directors, and as First Tee Jersey Shore Mentor
Found support, inspiration and strength in her everyday life through the LPGA Leadership Academy in New Jersey sponsored by the USGA
Hopes to pursue a career in STEM at New York University, working with AI or utilizing her programming skills

Sophia Reed graduated from Estero High School in Florida, where she served four years on the Varsity Golf Team, two years as Captain, helping lead her team to District Champions and State qualifiers.

Served as a member of the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf eLeader Board of Directors, volunteered as a golf coach for Stonybrook Junior Golf clinics
Developed valuable leadership skills on and off the course through the LPGA Leadership Academy in Nashville
Will play collegiate golf at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
Plans to study Business Finance, marketing and advertising, while working toward becoming an LPGA Professionals Class A member to achieve her goal of becoming a certified golf instructor.

This year, LPGA Leadership Academies celebrated its tenth year transforming teenage girls into confident, influential, and impactful future leaders. Over 2,000 girls have graduated from the program since its inception.

The LPGA Foundation is committed to using its platform to empower and inspire the next generation of female leaders, on and off the golf course. Through initiative like the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf program, LPGA Leadership Academies, and scholarship, the Foundation works to make golf more accessible, inclusive, and diverse, ensuring that every girl and woman can succeed.
