SEOUL, Republic of Korea — The one-seed United States Team took on the four-seed Australia Team in the third four-ball session at New Korea Country Club. The Americans had already clinched a spot in the Sunday semifinals after tallying four points across the first two days of four-ball play at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown, but the Australians needed to pick up 1.5 points to move on to the final day and 2 points to finish atop the Pool A point standings.

Americans Lauren Coughlin and Lilia Vu defeated Australians Hannah Green and Grace Kim in the last four-ball session of the 2025 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown, earning a 5-and-4 victory.

That result ties the largest margin of victory in any match this week at New Korea Country Club, joining the wins from their United States teammates Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin in each of the first two four-ball sessions.

Coughlin and Vu surged ahead immediately, winning the first three holes to go 3 up early on Green and Kim. The Aussies won the fifth hole to get back to 2 down, and that’s how the match stood until the United States Team once again climbed to 3 up following a Vu birdie on the par-4 11th hole.

Coughlin put the Americans 4 up when she birdied the par-3 13th hole, and the duo ultimately closed out Green and Kim when they won the par-5 14th hole with a birdie.

“We ham-and-egged it really well again today. Traded birdies pretty much all day,” Coughlin said of her and Vu’s victory. “Hannah and Grace played really well, but we were able to just put the pedal down all day.”

Vu praised her partner’s poise following their third consecutive match victory. “It's so fun playing with Lauren. We're really close, super comfortable out there,” said Vu. “I told her, I was like, ‘I'll just make the par, and you go for the birdie.’ And that's what happened on the back nine.”

The United States Team had already clinched their spot in the semifinals after going undefeated in the opening two sessions of four-ball in the Republic of Korea. They finished atop Pool A, earning 5.5 points across six total matches at New Korea Country Club.
