Angel Yin captured her second career title at the Honda LPGA Thailand in February, delivering strong play throughout the week. Yin captured 5 other top-10 finishes out of 19 starts during the 2025 season. Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom earned her first victory in nearly 1,900 days with a win 1-up over Lauren Coughlin at the T-Mobile Match Play. The drought-breaking triumph was an emotional moment for the veteran player who had been searching for her way back to the winner's circle.

Just weeks later, Swedish rookie Ingrid Lindblad made an immediate impact as an LPGA Tour member, winning the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro in only her third start. The former top-ranked amateur and Epson Tour graduate showed her game translates seamlessly to the professional level.

Major Championships Create New Stars

The Chevron Championship in April produced the season's fourth Rolex First-Time Winner when Japan's Mao Saigo claimed the first major of the year. Between majors, the Republic of Korea's Haeran Ryu won the inaugural Black Desert Championship, while Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul played bogey-free golf to capture her first victory of the year at the Mizuho Americas Open.

Japan's Chizzy Iwai dominated the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba, winning by six shots for her first LPGA title. The rookie's breakthrough would be followed later in the season by her twin sister Akie's victory, making them the first twins to win on Tour in the same season.

Sweden's Maja Stark, claimed the U.S. Women's Open presented by Ally at Erin Hills with steady play throughout the week. The Epson Tour graduate became the 50th player from that pathway to win a major championship, one of six Epson Tour alums to claim titles during the 2025 season.

Returns and First Visits to Victory Lane

Jennifer Kupcho ended a nearly three-year winless streak at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, her first victory since the 2022 season. Kupcho added another accomplishment to her 2025 season by winning the Aon Risk Reward Challenge and its $1 million prize, going for the green on Challenge holes 68 percent of the time (fifth highest on Tour) and converting at a 35 percent success rate, second-best among all LPGA players.

Even more impressive was Carlota Ciganda's triumph at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, her first LPGA Tour victory in more than eight and a half years. The Spanish veteran's persistence paid off in a big way as she beat Korean Hye-Jin Choi by one stroke in the final round of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Mich.

Australia's Minjee Lee captured the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at what was a difficult Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco to become a three-time major winner, further cementing her legacy as one of the greats in Australian golf. The following week saw something unique as playing partners Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im were declared co-champions at the Dow Championship, both capturing their first victory on Tour and becoming the sixth and seventh Rolex First-Time Winners of the 2025 season.

More Majors, More First-Time Winners

Australia's Grace Kim became a first-time major champion at The Amundi Evian Championship in spectacular fashion, shooting a final-round 67 to finish at 14-under and force a playoff against now Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul. The 24-year-old holed out for birdie on the first playoff hole after putting her second shot in the water and then polished off her first major title by making eagle on the second playoff hole.

England's Lottie Woad made headlines by becoming a Rolex First-Time Winner in her professional debut at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open. Woad's victory was one of the season's most surprising and impressive achievements, coming just days after she earned LPGA Tour membership via the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway with a T3 finish at The Amundi Evian Championship. She then turned professional and won in her first start as a pro by three strokes over Hyo Joo Kim at Dundonald Links.

Japanese rookie Miyu Yamashita claimed the AIG Women's Open title at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club to become a Rolex First-Time Winner at the season's final major. She then added a second title at the Maybank Championship in Malaysia after winning in a three-way playoff over Hye-Jin Choi and Hannah Green. Yamashita led the Tour in strokes gained putting in 2025 (1.31), which was a key factor in her stellar rookie season. Yamashita's breakout year earned her the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award, and she became the third Japanese player to receive the honor and the second consecutive Japanese winner, following Mao Saigo, who secured the honor in 2024.

Iwai Twins Make History

When Akie Iwai won The Standard Portland Classic, she joined her twin sister Chizzy as the 10th rookie to become a Rolex First-Time Winner in 2025. The sisters' shared journey to the winner's circle became one of the feel-good stories of the season, with both earning their first titles in 2025 and collecting 10 other top-10 results combined.

Home Victories and Clutch Performances

Canada's Brooke Henderson delivered for the home fans with a win at the CPKC Women's Open, while American Miranda Wang claimed her first LPGA title at the FM Championship, holding off world No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul to get it done at TPC Boston.

England's Charley Hull won the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G at TPC River’s Bend to extend the different-winners streak to 25. The 29-year-old English superstar competed in 16 total events throughout 2025, recording four top-10 finishes, making it a truly “happy” year for Hull as she both claimed her third LPGA victory and made her on-screen debut in Happy Gilmore 2.

The Republic of Korea's Youmin Hwang birdied five of the last six holes to win the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei and secure her first LPGA Tour title as a non-member. Hwang deferred the LPGA Tour membership she was offered as part of that non-member victory to the 2026 season and is considered to be a 2026 rookie.

Fall Asian Swing Extends Winning Diversity

Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul came from behind to win the Buick LPGA Shanghai in a dramatic five-hole playoff with Minami Katsu, earning her second victory of the season in the People’s Republic of China.

Korean major champion Sei Young Kim then ended a five-year drought with a dominant four-stroke victory at the BMW Ladies Championship the next week in her home country. Out of the 17 cuts she made, she tallied 10 total top-10 results across 2025 and finished the year ranked first in par-5 scoring average (4.55).

Japan's Nasa Hataoka won the rain-shortened TOTO Japan Classic in a playoff and led a sweep of the top five spots by Japanese players, who thrived in their home country despite challenging conditions. Hataoka’s win, which was her first since 2022, was a perfect wrap of the fall Asian swing before the LPGA Tour headed back to the United States for the final two events of the year.

Back-to-Back Champions in Florida

Sweden's Linn Grant claimed her second LPGA title by finishing at 19-under to win by three strokes in a commanding performance at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. The stage was then set for the season's culminating event, the CME Group Tour Championship, where the year's best would battle for the largest first-place prize in women's golf with $4 million going to the winner and the prestigious title of Race to the CME Globe champion.

Fittingly, Jeeno Thitikul capped the season by claiming her third win of the year at Tiburon Golf Club for the second straight playing. The Thai star became the first back-to-back winner of the season finale since Jin Young Ko successfully defended her title in 2021, bookending a year defined by the Tour’s depth with a statement of dominance.
