CROMVOIRT, Netherlands — There was no doubt that Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda would be playing together at the 2026 Solheim Cup, as they’ve been a lethal combination for the Americans in recent editions of the biennial team competition.

Before the start of play at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, the duo had gone 4-0-0 in their previous four appearances as partners across the 2023 and 2024 Solheim Cups. Allisen and Nelly made their debut in 2023 at Finca Cortesin in Spain and won both of their foursomes matches in what was Corpuz’s first-ever Solheim Cup appearance.

The duo then reprised their roles as partners at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, sweeping the foursomes sessions in Virginia with a 3-and-2 victory on Friday and a 1-up victory on Saturday.

They are one of only four pairs in the history of the biennial team competition to have a perfect record with a minimum of three matches played, alongside Brittany Lincicome and Brittany Lang (4-0-0); Annika Sorenstam and Suzann Pettersen (4-0-0); and Catriona Matthew and Karine Icher (3-0-0).

Corpuz and Korda once again remind everyone about the power of their partnership on Friday morning in the Netherlands, as the major champions took down the formidable team of Charley Hull and Lottie Woad in the first foursomes match of the 20th playing of the Solheim Cup.

The Europeans landed the first punch, making birdie on the par-4 first hole to take an early 1-up lead over the Red, White and Blue. But the current Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 and 2023 U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally winner answered quickly, as Corpuz and Korda took the par-5 second hole to square the match.

An American par on the sixth hole saw the U.S. Team go 1 up over the Euros, and Corpuz and Korda then extended their advantage by winning the next two holes to move three ahead with nine holes remaining.

Allisen and Nelly surged to 4 up with a par on 12 and won 13 to climb to 5 up over Hull and Woad with five holes to play. And while the Europeans won the 14th hole after Charley Hull stuffed her approach shot and buried the resulting birdie putt, the Americans ultimately closed out the match on the par-3 15th hole, tying the Englishwomen with par to put the first red point on the board for the United States.

“(Allisen is) just so solid. Honestly, I enjoy playing with her so much,” Korda said of her partner after the duo’s victory. “We have a lot of fun out there. Our caddies have so much fun out there. She's just such a solid player. It's really good to rely on her, and it's also fun.”

With the win, Corpuz and Korda are the first partners to win five consecutive matches together in Solheim Cup history. In context of the Ryder Cup, only Arnold Palmer and Gardner Dickinson ever won their first five matches as partners, doing so from 1967 to 1971, and only Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal ever won five consecutive matches or more as a duet, doing so across the 1989 and 1991 Ryder Cups at The Belfry in England and Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina.

Corpuz and Korda also set a new American record for most points earned as partners in the Solheim Cup, beating out Brandie Burton and Dottie Pepper, who collected 4.5 points when playing together. They now tie Laura Davies and Alison Nicholas in most points earned as partners, having five points to their credit.

Individually, the victory brings Nelly’s overall record to 11-5-1 in her five Solheim Cup appearances and Corpuz’s to 6-2-1, giving the former a winning percentage of nearly 65 percent and the latter a winning percentage of just about 66 percent, two records that speak volumes about Allisen and Nelly’s propensity for this team-play format.

It should be expected of U.S. Captain Angela Stanford to once again put the Corpuz and Korda pair out for the Saturday morning foursomes session, as the two have consistently defined themselves as one of the most lethal sets of partners the Americans have to offer.

You won’t hear either athlete complain about another 18-hole walk together, though, as the Hawaiian and Floridian very much enjoy each other’s company and love taking advantage of the other’s strengths on the golf course, something Corpuz didn’t wait to quip about in her post-match media availability.

“I always make the joke to Nelly, like, it's so nice to be 30 yards ahead of where I would be on my own drive,” said Corpuz. “It just makes the hole so much easier, I think. It's so much fun out here. I love the Solheim Cup. I love being out here.”
