Brianna Do carried her first-round momentum into Friday’s second round, posting a 3-under 69 at El Camaleon Golf Course at Mayakoba to share the 36-hole lead at the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba.

The 36-year-old American sits at 9-under 135 alongside Rolex Ranking Women’s World Golf No. 1 Nelly Korda heading into the weekend, with 36 holes remaining in the tournament.

Do picked up right where she left off Thursday, going out in 33 on the back nine to build an early cushion before finishing off a steady round on the front.

“I think I just carried the momentum over until today,” Do said. “I started with two birdies on 10, 11, my first two holes, and that really got things going.”

She added a third birdie on the par-3 15th to reach 9-under before navigating the remainder of the back nine in even par. A birdie on the par-4 second hole pushed her to 10-under, but a closing bogey on the par-4 ninth brought her back to 9-under, capping a round of four birdies, one bogey.

Do, a 2015 Epson Tour graduate, has found something comfortable at El Camaleon, a course she contended on last year. She finished T9 at this event in 2025 at 3-under, and she believes that familiarity is playing a role in her current form.

“Playing well last year helps a lot with this year,” Do said. “Maybe just the course being a little more demanding off the tee — it keeps you in the whole time, just concentrating a lot over every shot and trying to get the best out of my game.”

Through two events this season, Do has yet to record a top-10 finish, making this weekend’s opportunity all the more significant. She has positioned herself to contend for her first LPGA Tour title, and she’s leaning on last year’s experience at this venue as preparation.

“I put myself in that position last year here, so I think I’m going to be a little more prepared for it this year,” Do said. “I don’t think you’re ever very comfortable being in contention and leading, so I’m going to accept it and kind of just play within myself and feel the feels and kind of see what happens. Just accept what happens.”
