The third and final week of the LPGA Tour’s spring swing through Asia wraps up this week with the Blue Bay LPGA on Hainan Island in the People’s Republic of China. The limited field features 108 of the best players in the women’s game, including nearly two dozen members of the China Golf Association, who will compete for a $2.6 mil purse. The eighth edition of the Blue Bay LPGA begins Thursday at Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course where several notable groups are poised to tee it up.

Thursday, 7:15 a.m., 10th tee - Mimi Rhodes, Ayaka Furue, Youmin Hwang

The LPGA rookie Rhodes wasted little time making her presence known on the LPGA Tour in her debut last week at the HSBC Women’s World Championship where was tied for 10th. Rhodes will be getting to know another new venue as she makes another tournament debut this week.

Rhodes will be competing alongside a seasoned veteran in Furue, who was third at the Blue Bay LPGA in both 2025 and 2024. The major champion is making her fourth start of the year where she’ll be searching for her second top 10 of the season having finished tied for ninth at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

Like Furue, Hwang has enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 LPGA Tour season and has finished no worse than a tie for 18th in her first two starts of the season.

Thursday, 7:26 a.m., 10th tee - Ruixin Liu, Rio Takeda, Bailey Tardy

After enjoying a prolonged off-season, Liu is making her season debut this week at the Blue Bay LPGA where she was seventh in 2024.

Liu is grouped with defending champion Takeda, who set the 18-hole tournament scoring record with a closing round of 64 en route to victory in 2025. The win marked the second victory of Takeda’s career who also won as a non-member at the TOTO Japan Classic in 2024. Takeda is making her fourth start of the season and coming off a tie for eighth on Sunday at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.

Another winner of the Blue Bay LPGA rounds out this group with Tardy, who set a new 72-hole tournament scoring record of 269, winning by four strokes at 19-under par for her maiden title on Tour in 2024. She is making just her second start of the season after beginning her year with a tie for 30th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

Thursday, 7:37 a.m., 10th tee - Weiwei Zhang, Auston Kim, Lindy Duncan

Zhang is one of 20 members of the China Golf Association who will tee it up this week at the Blue Bay LPGA. Zhang also splits her time on the LPGA Tour and was tied for 31st at the Blue Bay LPGA in 2024.

Kim will be looking to build off her success on Sunday at the HSBC Women’s World Championship where she mounted a final round charge up the leaderboard to finish runner-up to winner Hannah Green. Kim was tied for 12th at the Blue Bay LPGA in 2025.

Duncan was also tied for 12th last season at the Blue Bay LPGA and has enjoyed a strong start to her 2026 LPGA Tour campaign as she was seventh on Sunday at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.

Thursday, 12:07 p.m., 1st tee - Lucy Li, Albane Valenzuela, Muni He

Li is competing for the third straight week in Asia, having recorded a tie for 24th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and a tie for 55th at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. This week, Li will be looking to rely on her prior knowledge and success on Hainan Island where she was tied for 10th in 2024.

Valenzuela is making her first start of the 2026 LPGA Tour season this week at the Blue Bay LPGA where she was tied for 15th in 2024.

He received one of five sponsor exemptions to compete this week at the Blue Bay LPGA where she will be making her second start of the year. He was 52nd in her season debut at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
