The Honda LPGA Thailand gets underway this week at Siam Country Club’s Pattaya Old Course in Chonburi, Thailand. The tournament marks the first of three events that will be contested in Asia over the coming weeks, as the HSBC Women’s World Championship is set to be played in Singapore next week with the Blue Bay LPGA coming in early March in the People’s Republic of China. The field in Thailand boasts several of the top athletes in the women’s game, few more notable than current Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, Olympic gold medalist Lydia Ko and defending champion Angel Yin.

Thursday, 9:50 a.m. – Lydia Ko/Ruoning Yin/Pajaree Anannarukarn

LPGA Hall of Famer Lydia Ko is making her first start in the Honda LPGA Thailand since the 2023 season this week at Siam Country Club’s Pattaya Old Course. While Ko has yet to win the LPGA Tour’s annual event in Thailand, looking at her results in this tournament in her seven previous appearances, it seems like something that might wind up being an eventuality for the 28-year-old. She has finished outside the top 20 just one time in that slate of performances and collected four top 15s, the best of which is a tie for sixth that Ko carded in 2023. The 23-time LPGA Tour winner came in fourth in her 2026 season debut at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at her home course, Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, what was a strong kickoff to her 13th year as an LPGA Tour member and something she will be working to build upon in her second event of the season. The three-time major champion is currently ranked sixth in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings and will be hoping to use the Honda LPGA Thailand to generate some positive momentum as she looks ahead to a title defense at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore next week.

Ruoning Yin is teeing it up for just the third time ever in the Honda LPGA Thailand this week and will be working hard to improve upon her tournament-best result of T26 that she recorded last year at the Pattaya Old Course at Siam Country Club. The People’s Republic of China native had a ho-hum start to 2026, tying for 17th at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions after posting a 54-hole total of 1-under at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, and will be looking to jumpstart her fifth season as a Tour member with a positive result this week in Thailand. While Yin was unable to pull into victory lane in 2025, last year was still a pretty positive one for the Chinese LPGA Tour winner. She made 14 cuts in 16 starts and tallied three top-five finishes at The Chevron Championship (T2), the Black Desert Championship presented by Greater Zion (T2) and the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally (T4), also making the People’s Republic of China Team at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. Yin hasn’t won on the LPGA Tour since the 2024 Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but the current Rolex Rankings No. 7 will be looking to put herself in contention for her sixth career title sooner rather than later in 2026.

Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn has made seven previous starts in the Honda LPGA Thailand, but the two-time LPGA Tour winner has only finished in the top 20 twice in those appearances, tying for 13th in 2021 and tying for 17th in 2025. Her national open actually marks the 26-year-old’s season debut on the LPGA Tour, as she wasn’t eligible to compete in the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, having not won on the LPGA Tour since the 2023 T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards. Anannarukarn had a strong showing in 2025, however, making 20 cuts in 26 starts, finishing in the top 10 in the first event of the season at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club (T10) and then coming in second to one of her best friends Jeeno Thitikul at the CME Group Tour Championship in November. This is Anannarukarn’s eighth year as an LPGA Tour member, and she is currently 49th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Thursday, 10:02 a.m. – Jeeno Thitikul/Angel Yin/Akie Iwai

Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul is back in her native Thailand this week for the 19th edition of the Honda LPGA Thailand. This is her second event of 2026, as Thitikul teed it up and finished in a tie for seventh at the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando, Fla., what was her debut in the event that serves as a annual kickoff each year for the Tour’s top athletes who have captured victories in the last two calendar seasons. The 22-year-old, who will turn 23 on Feb. 20, has played in six previous editions of her national open and racked up four top-10 results in those starts. Three of those appearances saw top-three performances from Thitikul, showings that came in 2021 when Thitikul finished runner-up to her Thai counterpart Ariya Jutanugarn, in 2023 when she came in third with a four-round total of 20-under and in 2025 when she posted at 21-under overall to finish seven strokes behind eventual champion Angel Yin. The 2025 season was an excellent one for Thitikul, as she made 19 cuts in 20 starts, tallied three victories, including a successful title defense at the CME Group Tour Championship, and collected 11 other top-10 results. And it’s that kind of consistent excellence that the reigning Rolex Player of the Year will be looking to replicate in her fifth season as an LPGA Tour winner.

Angel Yin picked up her second career LPGA Tour victory in Thailand last season, beating Japan’s Akie Iwai by one stroke with a four-day total of 28-under, a score that set a new 72-hole scoring record at the Honda LPGA Thailand and that was also the lowest 72-hole total recorded on the LPGA Tour since Lydia Ko posted at 28-under in 2021 en route to her 16th Tour victory at the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei. Yin will be looking to successfully defend a title for the first time in her LPGA career in what will be her sixth start at Siam Country Club’s Pattaya Old Course, a property at which Yin has earned one other top-three result in addition to her 2025 victory, a tie for third that came back in 2021. The 27-year-old made her 2026 debut a few weeks ago in Orlando, Fla. at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and was in a tie for 37th when the tournament was reduced to 54 holes, a lackluster showing that Yin will be working to improve upon this week in the first of a three-tournament swing in Asia.

Akie Iwai was a 2025 rookie when she went toe-to-toe with veteran Yin last season at the Honda LPGA Thailand and carded a four-round total of 27-under to finish alone in second in just her second start as an LPGA Tour member. That runner-up performance was one of seven total top-10 finishes that she tallied in her first season with the LPGA, a slate of results that also saw Akie become a Rolex First-Time Winner at The Standard Portland Classic last August. Akie and her twin sister Chizzy both made their sophomore season debut at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, and Akie will be trying to improve upon the tie for 15th she posted in her first start in the season-opening event in Central Florida in balmy conditions at Siam Country Club’s Pattaya Old Course.
