From the Career Grand Slam to the LPGA Hall of Fame, there’s plenty that the athletes in the field at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will have to play for this week at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Further upping the ante for the field was the announcement that was made earlier this week that KPMG was increasing the tournament’s total prize money to $13 mil, which is the largest purse in the history of women’s golf. Here’s a look at some of the notable groups to keep an eye on over the first two rounds as they compete not only for a major trophy, but for some, also a chance to make history.

Thursday, 8:06 a.m., 1st tee; Friday, 1:30 p.m., 10th tee - Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Lottie Woad

Ko will be chasing her place in the record books as she has a chance to complete the Career Grand Slam with a victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, having already won three other different major championships. Ko was tied for 10th when the major championship was last staged at Hazeltine. She’ll be grouped with Henderson, a winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship a decade ago. Henderson earned her breakthrough major title in 2016 at Sahalee Country Club and was tied for 30th at Hazeltine in 2019. Woad is making her tournament debut this week and looking to continue the momentum she’s shown in recent weeks with a win in May at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G and a playoff loss on Sunday at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.

Thursday, 8:17 a.m., 1st tee; Friday, 1:42 p.m., 10th tee - Nelly Korda, Hannah Green, Sei Young Kim

Korda could capture not only her fifth win of the season with a victory on Sunday, but a win would also mark her fifth major title and third consecutive major victory. A win would also earn Korda the final two points she needs to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame. With her recent run of form, all signs point towards a victory this week for Korda, who was tied for third at Hazeltine in 2019. Korda, who won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2021, is grouped with two other winners of the major championship. Green was victorious in 2019 at Hazeltine when she won by a single stroke for her first major title. Green has enjoyed a hot start to her season, like Korda, with four worldwide wins to begin the year. Kim, a winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2021 at Aronomink Golf Club, was fifth in her last start at the U.S. Women’s Open where she picked up her fourth top 10 of the season. Kim was 20th when the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was held at Hazeltine in 2019.

Thursday, 1:31 p.m., 10th tee; Friday, 8:06 a.m. 1st tee - Minjee Lee, Amy Yang, Ruoning Yin

Lee is the defending champion this week at Hazeltine following her victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Frisco last season. Lee has two top 10s to start 2026 and was tied for 30th when the LPGA Tour last teed it up at Hazeltine in 2019. Yang, who won the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee Country Club, has a single top 10 to start her year. She’ll look to build on her tie for 21st at Hazeltine in 2019. Yin was also a winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, her victory came at Baltusrol in 2023. She’s been trending towards a victory as she arrives at Hazeltine off four consecutive top 10s, including the first two majors of the year.

Thursday, 1:42 p.m., 10th tee; Friday, 8:17 a.m., 1st tee - Charley Hull, Jeeno Thitikul, Gaby Lopez

Hull picked up her fifth runner-up finish in a major championship with her Sunday charge at the U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera Country Club. Hull has 12 top 10s in majors but struggled in the LPGA Tour’s last trip to Hazeltine in 2019 when she missed the cut. Thitikul remains the top-ranked player in the game who has yet to win a major championship. She’s coming off a missed cut last week at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Lopez has retooled her schedule this season to peak for the majors, which paid off in the U.S. Women’s Open where she was tied for second. Lopez missed the cut in her last visit to Hazeltine in 2019.
