CHASKA, Minn. — Returning to Hazeltine National Golf Club for the first time since her 2019 KPMG Women's PGA Championship victory, Hannah Green found herself walking down memory lane during her practice rounds early in the week.

Green hasn't been back to the property in seven years, but specific shots from her major championship breakthrough remain fresh in her mind. Among them is her clutch play on the 18th hole, which saw her hit into the front-left bunker and punch out to within five feet to help secure the title.

"I think that's probably the most memorable shot," Green said. "But then I made a putt on five on Saturday. Holed out on the seventh hole in the first round. So, there are definitely shots that I remember. I also remember some of the bad shots as well, which is sometimes not a great thing. It's nice to kind of relive those moments in the practice round."

A lot has changed for the Australian since hoisting the trophy. Green hits the ball significantly farther now than she did in 2019, but she believes the ultimate key to success on the challenging layout remains the same as it was during her winning week: precise putting.

"Yes, you want to hit fairways and greens, but I think they're quite tricky to read," Green said Hazeltine's green complexes. "So, making sure you leave yourself as many uphill putts as possible will probably be a big difference versus a downhill putt."

And Green agrees with the sentiment that’s been shared among the LPGA Tour athletes this week: Hazeltine is looking good this week, and they’re ready for the third major championship.

"The course is in great condition. It definitely feels like a major championship test when we come back here," Green said about this week’s course conditions. "We had a little bit of rain yesterday. I was fortunate to miss that in the morning. But the course is looking good, and I feel like my game is in good shape, so hopefully, I can play well again and defend this golf course.

"It's great that the KPMG Women's PGA Championship is going to great golf courses, and repeating on those venues means a lot for the growth of the women's game."
