Haeran Ryu's pursuit of her first victory of the season fell just short on Sunday, but another stellar performance proved she is trending exactly in the right direction.

Ryu carded a final-round 67 to finish alone in second place at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G, marking her sixth top-10 finish of the 2026 LPGA Tour season.

The Republic of Korea native posted 71-66-66-67 for a 4-round total of 270, finishing just two strokes behind tournament winner Lottie Woad. Despite just missing out on the winner's circle, Ryu’s dominant play, which included leading the entire tournament field with 22 birdies overall, showed she is on the cusp of a breakthrough.

"I just focus for my swing," Ryu said after her round. "I just focus for my swing. Lottie [played] well before three rounds, so I just think about I want to be on the top three. I just keep focus for my swing and then, yeah, that works."

Ryu mounted a tremendous charge on the front nine, navigating bumpy and slow greens by attacking flags to set up easy birdie opportunities. However, a tricky, wind-swept back nine cooled her momentum, leading to a costly bogey the 10th hole and a double bogey on the 13th hole.

"Everybody feels so hard these holes," Ryu said of the back-nine stretch. "Next par-5 I can make the bounce-back birdie. So I'm so happy right now."

The solo-second finish serves as Ryu’s best result of the year and provides a massive wave of momentum heading into a crucial stretch of the season.
