This year’s major championship season begins in April for the LPGA Tour’s best, and with a slate of brand-new and familiar facilities on the docket for the biggest tournaments in all of women’s golf, the 2026 majors once again promise to thrill. Here’s a quick look at what to expect from the five-event major tournament slate and what historic venues at which fans will get to see the world’s best athletes tee it up.

The Chevron Championship

For the very first time in its storied history, The Chevron Championship will be contested at Memorial Park in Houston, Texas, as the event has moved from The Club at Carlton Woods. The major championship was originally held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. until Chevron became the title sponsor in 2023 and took it to the Greater Houston area.

Former Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No. 1s Lilia Vu and Nelly Korda won The Chevron Championship in 2023 and 2024, respectively, at Carlton Woods. Vu beat Angel Yin in a playoff to claim what was her first major title and second of four wins, while Korda won her fifth straight tournament the next year after successfully holding off a late charge from Sweden’s Maja Stark.

Mao Saigo will be the defending Chevron champion in 2026, having ultimately survived a five-person playoff last year that also featured Lindy Duncan, Ariya Jutanugarn, Hyo Joo Kim and Ruoning Yin to become a Rolex First-Time Winner and the first of two Japanese athletes to secure victories during the 2025 major season.

U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally

The 81st U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally is set to be played at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. It’s the very first time in the history of what is the oldest of the five current women’s major championships that the world’s best female athletes will descend upon the iconic property, which was famously the site of Tiger Woods’ first start on the PGA Tour.

Sweden’s Maja Stark won the 2025 edition of the U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisc., finishing two strokes ahead of Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda in The Badger State. She was the sixth Swede in the history of the LPGA Tour to win a major championship and first since 2026 European Solheim Cup Captain Anna Nordqvist triumphed at the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie in 2021.

KPMG Women’s PGA Championship

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is returning to Hazeltine Golf Club in 2026, where Australian Minjee Lee will be looking for the first successful title defense of her LPGA Tour career. Lee was one of two Aussies to add a major tally to her win column in 2025, as Epson Tour graduate and 2023 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei winner Grace Kim captured her first major victory after beating current Rolex Rankings No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul at Evian Resort Golf Club.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was last played at Hazeltine in 2019, and it was Hannah Green who emerged victorious seven seasons ago, winning by one stroke over Sung Hyun Park in what was her first trip to victory lane on the LPGA Tour.

This venue has additionally hosted two U.S. Women’s Opens, one of which was won by Sandra Spuzich in 1966 and the second of which saw Hollis Stacy take home the first of what would eventually be her three Harton S. Semple trophies.

The Amundi Evian Championship

Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France will once again play host to The Amundi Evian Championship in July 2026. Grace Kim collected her second career LPGA Tour victory following one of the most dramatic finishes in recent memory, defeating Jeeno Thitikul in a two-hole playoff that saw Kim hole out for birdie following a watery second shot on the first trip back to the par-5 18th hole.

Kim then rolled in a putt for eagle on the second extra hole to slam the door shut on her first major championship victory, a win that put her alongside Hannah Green, Minjee Lee, Jan Stephenson and Karrie Webb as just the fifth-ever Aussie major champion in LPGA Tour history.

AIG Women’s Open

Japan’s Miyu Yamashita will be working to add a second AIG Women’s Open title to her young resume this season in her title defense at Royal Lytham and St Annes. The venue has hosted five previous editions of the only major championship that’s annually contested in the United Kingdom, the most recent of which saw Englishwoman Georgia Hall become one of 10 Rolex First-Time Winners back in 2018.

American Sherri Steinhauer won both the 1998 and 2006 editions of the AIG Women’s Open at the property, with former European Solheim Cup participants and captains Annika Sorenstam and Catriona Matthew winning the major tournament in 2003 and 2009, respectively.

Yamashita was the second Japanese athlete to win the tournament since it joined the LPGA major rota in 2001 alongside Hinako Shibuno, who won the AIG Women’s Open as a non-member in 2019 at Woburn. She went on to secure 2025 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year honors, becoming the second consecutive Japanese winner of the award after Mao Saigo in 2024.
