Korda earns third major championship victory of her LPGA Tour career

HOUSTON (April 27, 2026) – At the first major championship of the LPGA Tour season, Nelly Korda claimed her 17th career victory by five shots, going wire-to-wire at Memorial Park Golf Course. She also took the early lead in the race for 2026 Rolex ANNIKA Major Award honors.

Korda shot a pair of 65s on Thursday and Friday, followed by a pair of 70s on Saturday and Sunday to achieve her third major championship victory and first since her win at The Chevron Championship two years ago. The American led the field in birdies made and greens in regulation hit in her pursuit of victory.

Korda joined an elite group of women with her accomplishments, including becoming the third player in the last 50 years to win a major championship after leading by multiple strokes after each round and the first since Amy Alcott at The Chevron Championship in 1991. Korda also became the seventh different American to win a third major championship before age 28, joining LPGA Hall of Famers Alcott, Patty Berg, Betsy Rawls, Louise Suggs, Kathy Whitworth and Mickey Wright.

Earlier today, Korda officially moved to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. This is the second time she has moved to No. 1 following a major championship victory and the fifth time over the last 10 seasons that a player moved to No. 1 after a major championship victory.

The Rolex ANNIKA Major Award recognizes the player who, during the current LPGA Tour season, has the most outstanding record in all five major championships. Points will be awarded at all five major championships to competitors who finish among the top 10 and ties. In order to earn the award by year’s end, a player must win at least one of the five major titles.

The winner of the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award will be announced following the conclusion of the AIG Women’s Open and will be honored in November at the Rolex LPGA Awards at the CME Group Tour Championship.
