Xiyu Janet Lin provided the early fireworks Sunday at the U.S. Women’s Open, recording a hole-in-one on the par-3 sixth hole during the final round at the iconic Riviera Country Club.

The ace was the highlight of an up-and-down round for Lin, who finished the day at 1-under-par and in a tie for 28th place. Her round had a bit of everything, with four bogeys offset by the ace and three birdies.

The hole-in-one marks the sixth ace in LPGA Tour competition for the People’s Republic of China native. She finished the final round 1-under-par to end the week in California with scores of 73, 69, 75, and 70 for a total of 287. Lin’s best finish in her 10 career U.S. Women’s Open appearances came in 2021, where she tied for seventh at The Olympic Club.

Beyond the leaderboard impact, the three-time Olympian’s hole-in-one will result in a $20,000 donation made on her behalf to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by CME Group as part of the CME Group Cares Challenge – Score 1 for St. Jude. The challenge is a season-long charitable program that turns holes-in-one into donations for childhood cancer treatment and research; Lin’s ace marks the ninth contribution to St. Jude in 2026, bringing the total to $180,000.

Lin represented the People’s Republic of China in women's golf at the Summer Olympics in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), 2020 (Tokyo), and 2024 (Paris), finishing 38th, tied for ninth, and winning the bronze medal, respectively.
