Ryu wins her second major championship of 2026; Award comes down to Ryu and Korda

EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France, (July 13, 2026) – At The Amundi Evian Championship, Haeran Ryu claimed her second consecutive major championship at Evian Resort Golf Club. Less than two weeks prior, she became a major champion at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

With Ryu’s two victories, the 2026 Rolex ANNIKA Major Award comes down to her and World No. 1 Nelly Korda (The Chevron Championship, U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally). Each player has won two major championships this year, being the first time in golf history that two players have won multiple major championships in one season.

Korda has the lead in the standings due to the additional six points she earned with her tied for eighth place finish at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Ryu did not compete at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally, and finished in a tied for 12th place at The Chevron Championship.

Previously, Korda and Ryu have won their respective Rolex Awards. In her historic 2024 campaign, Korda claimed the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award and Rolex Player of the Year. Ryu earned the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Award in 2023 after winning the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G and earning five additional top-10 finishes.

Both players will head to the final major championship of the season, the AIG Women’s Open, in two weeks and pursue their third major championship title of the season and the prestigious Rolex ANNIKA Major Award.

The Rolex ANNIKA Major Award recognizes the player who, during the current LPGA Tour season, has the most outstanding record in all five major championships. Points will be awarded at all five major championships to competitors who finish among the top 10 and ties. In order to earn the award by year’s end, a player must win at least one of the five major titles.

The winner of the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award will be announced following the conclusion of the AIG Women’s Open and will be honored in November at the Rolex LPGA Awards at the CME Group Tour Championship.
