For LPGA Tour rookie Camille Boyd, the jump from the Epson Tour to the big stage has been a little difficult. After missing the cut in her first three starts of the 2026 season, the former University of Washington standout arrived at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro looking for a spark.

She found it Thursday.

Boyd carded an opening-round 5-under 67, using seven birdies to punctuate a solid round. After weeks of searching for a groove, the California native appeared comfortable on West Coast soil at El Caballero Country Club.

Boyd’s round was defined by aggressive recovery. While she carded two bogeys, they were overshadowed by a consistent barrage of scoring.

"Coming out here was definitely an adjustment," Boyd said. "Playing on Epson last year, the LPGA is definitely a different environment. But I’m happy to have, hopefully, finally settled in and just play some good golf from here."

While her start to 2026 was rocky, Boyd’s resume suggested a breakthrough was coming. She earned her 2026 membership with a T10 finish at the Final Qualifying Stage of 2025 LPGA Q-Series following a season on the Epson Tour where she made 15 cuts in 20 starts. That season included a runner-up finish at the Hartford Healthcare Women’s Championship.

Her collegiate career was equally decorated. While playing for Washington, she was a two-time medalist at the Juli Inkster Invitational in 2022 and 2024.
