Two legendary LPGA Tour veterans will take center stage at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, to lead their respective teams in the 20th playing of the Solheim Cup.

European Captain Anna Nordqvist and U.S. Captain Angela Stanford bring decades of elite match-play experience and major championship pedigree to the team competition. The showcase features eight foursome, eight four-ball, and 12 singles matches.

Anna Nordqvist: European Team Captain

Nordqvist stands as one of the most decorated and experienced competitors in Solheim Cup history, having played on nine consecutive European teams. Over her 35 matches, she amassed a 17-15-3 overall record and helped lead Europe to victory five times. She also brought valuable leadership to the team room as a playing vice-captain during the 2023 and 2024 editions. Her deep roots in team play trace back to 2005, when she represented Europe in the Junior Solheim Cup alongside longtime teammate Carlota Ciganda.

On the LPGA Tour, Nordqvist collected nine career titles, highlighted by three major championships: the 2009 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the 2017 Amundi Evian Championship, and the 2021 AIG Women's Open. Over her career, Nordqvist amassed 81 top-10 finishes and earned over $14 million in career earnings. She capped off her distinguished tour career at the 2026 FM Championship, closing her final appearance with an even-par final round (74-68-73-72) to finish tied for 38th at 1-under-par 287.

Angela Stanford: U.S. Team Captain

Stanford, who stepped away from LPGA Tour play in late 2024, enters her captaincy with nine total Solheim Cup appearances under her belt. She competed for the U.S. Team in six editions as a player (2003, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015), tallying 5.5 points across 20 career matches. Stanford secured one of the biggest moments in U.S. Solheim Cup history during the 2015 matches, clinching the winning point with a 2-and-1 singles victory to complete the largest comeback in tournament history. She further honed her leadership skills by serving as a U.S. assistant captain in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Stanford's 24-year LPGA Tour career features seven victories, most notably winning her first major title in her 18th season on Tour at the 2018 Amundi Evian Championship. Known for her durability, she holds the LPGA record for the most consecutive major appearances with 98 from 2002 to 2024, second only to Jack Nicklaus for a consecutive majors streak in professional golf. Over her career, Stanford has earned 100 top-10 finishes and currently ranks 23rd on the LPGA Tour's all-time career money list. Stanford has also won the 2023 and 2024 Senior LPGA Championships.
