2015 — The Last U.S. Team Road Win

The Americans have not won the Solheim Cup on European soil since 2015, when Juli Inkster captained the U.S. Team to a 14.5-13.5 victory in Germany. Over the last seven Solheim Cups, dating back to 2013, road teams are 3-3-1, underscoring the challenge of winning away from home. The U.S. has only ever won two other Cups overseas, doing so in 1996 in Wales and in 2007 in Sweden.

In 2015, the U.S. Team entered the final day trailing Europe and needed a strong performance in singles to reclaim the Cup. The Americans won eight of the 12 singles matches, earning 8.5 points and completing the largest comeback in Solheim Cup history.

8 Appearances — Experience at the Top

Charley Hull and Carlota Ciganda are each set to make their eighth Solheim Cup appearance in the Netherlands, the most on either roster. Hull enters with a 15-9-3 record over 27 matches, and both own four career Solheim Cup victories. On the U.S. side, Nelly Korda and Megan Khang lead the roster in Solheim Cup starts, with both making their fifth appearance on an American squad at Bernardus.

10-5-1 — Korda’s Solheim Cup Resume

Nelly Korda enters her fifth Solheim Cup with a 10-5-1 record over 16 matches. Her .656 winning percentage ranks third among American players who have played in at least 10 Solheim Cup matches, behind Christina Kim and Dottie Pepper, who each own a .700 winning percentage. Korda is also 5-2-1 in Solheim Cup matches played outside the United States, the best record among American players with at least five matches on foreign soil.

6 Rookies — Fresh Faces on Both Rosters

The 2026 competition features six Solheim Cup rookies — Lindy Duncan and Auston Kim for the U.S. Team, and Nastasia Nadaud, Julia Lopez Ramirez, Mimi Rhodes and Lottie Woad for the European Team. Europe’s four captain’s picks include three rookies: Nadaud, Lopez Ramirez and Rhodes. The U.S. Team enters with an average Rolex Ranking of 54, compared to 39 for Europe. The Americans have an average age of 28.9, while Europe’s average is 28.1. The two teams feature six players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings Top 25: Korda (No. 1), Europe’s Lottie Woad (No. 7) and Charley Hull (No. 8), along with Esther Henseleit (No. 21), U.S. player Auston Kim (No. 22) and Angel Yin (No. 25). The U.S. roster also boasts greater major-championship experience, with six major victories among its players, including two from World No. 1 Nelly Korda this season, compared with two total for Europe.

3-2-1 — Rookie Captains Abroad

Stanford becomes the seventh U.S. captain to make her Solheim Cup captaincy debut on foreign soil. The six previous American captains to do so — Judy Rankin, Pat Bradley, Betsy King, Rosie Jones, Juli Inkster and Stacy Lewis — combine for a 3-2-1 record. Stanford, who played in six Solheim Cups as a competitor, now takes on a different role as she leads the Americans in the Netherlands.
