Hye-Jin Choi and Hyo Joo Kim brought their best to Midland Country Club on Sunday, but their bid for the title came up just short. Team LOTTE closed out the Dow Championship with a bogey-free 5-under 65 in the final round, finishing solo second at 15-under 265, two shots behind champions Yana Wilson and Gina Kim of Weapons of Grass Destruction, who won with a 17-under 263.

In a best-ball finale that rewards fearless golf, Team LOTTE delivered exactly that — clean, composed and relentless. Five birdies, zero bogeys and not a single wasted hole across 18. They just ran into a team that was a little more relentless.

Choi and Kim wasted no time getting to work, picking up a birdie on the par-4 second hole before going on a stretch of steady pars. The duo broke the silence again on the par-3 seventh, then backed it up immediately with another birdie on the par-4 eighth to reach 13-under at the turn. The front nine closed at 32, three-under and right in the thick of it.

The back nine was quieter but no less deliberate. A birdie on the par-4 12th pushed Team LOTTE to 14-under, and they punctuated the afternoon in style — making birdie on the par-3 18th to close out their tournament at 15-under 265.

It wasn't enough to catch Wilson and Kim, but it was a performance worth noting — especially given the company. Team LOTTE teed off alongside Weapons of Grass Destruction at 9:39 a.m., but Wilson and Kim's eagle on the fifth and six birdies proved to be just out of reach.

For Kim, the runner-up is a brief footnote in what has otherwise been a remarkable 2026. The 30-year-old won the Fortinet Founders Cup and the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass in back-to-back weeks earlier this season, giving her nine career LPGA Tour victories and a resume that includes the 2014 Evian Championship major.

Choi, 26 and still seeking her first LPGA Tour title, continues to build her case. Three top-10 finishes in 10 cuts this season — and a spotless Sunday scorecard — suggest that first win isn't far off.

While the Dow Championship carries no Rolex Rankings points, a title here counts as an official LPGA Tour victory. Team LOTTE didn't get the trophy Sunday, but they left Midland with something to build on.
