The Rolex Women’s World Rankings No. 1 joins defending champion Marina Alex and Jennifer Kupcho. Ko has been on a tear heading into her first appearance at the Cambia Portland Classic, with two wins and two other top three finishes since July. Marina Alex has made her first Solheim Cup team, and is trying to balance tuning up for her Gleneagles debut versus defending at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. Kupcho makes her debut in her 12th start of her rookie season, where she’s looking for her third top three finish of her season.
Ariya Jutanugarn, Jeongeun Lee6, Morgan Pressel- 10th Tee, 7:59 A.M.
The highest player on the LPGA Tour official money list without a win leads off the group, as Jutanugarn is searching for her 10th career victory. She had finished in the top 11 in the past six events, with a second-place finish at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic opening up the run of strong play. It is Jutanugarn’s first appearance in Portland since 2015. Lee6, the leader of the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Race, is making her debut in Portland, looking for her 4th top 10 in her last six starts. Morgan Pressel makes her final start before her sixth Solheim Cup. It is Pressel’s 14th appearance at the Cambia Portland Classic. Her best finish was in her debut in 2006, when she finished T7.
Sung Hyun Park, Suzann Pettersen, Brittany Altomare- 1st Tee, 1:21 P.M.
A Solheim veteran, a Solheim rookie, and the No. 2 golfer in the world join together for the first two rounds. Park is making her first appearance in Portland, her final appearance before three weeks off on the LPGA calendar. She comes in with a T20 finish last week in Canada. Pettersen returns to the home of her 2011 and 2013 victories, coming off her first made cut since returning to the LPGA Tour. Pettersen gets one more opportunity to play competitively before her Solheim Cup appearance. Brittany Altomare makes her fourth career start off her 26th consecutive made cut. That streak began at the 2018 Cambia Portland Classic when she finished T35. Her best finish is T3 in 2017.
Lexi Thompson, Jessica Korda, Nasa Hataoka- 10th Tee, 8:10 A.M.
Thompson makes her sixth appearance at the Cambia Portland Classic, featuring two T9’s in 2013 and 2018. Jessica Korda comes in finishing in the top 25 in eight of her last nine tournaments. She’s making her first appearance since 2015. Nasa Hataoka has rebounded from three missed cuts with a T5 finish in Canada last week heading into her second appearance at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. She finished T15 last year.
