Se Ri Pak, considered by many as the pioneer of golf in Korea – men or women – agreed to a new sponsorship with Volvik.
The #1 Korean golf ball manufacturer Volvik and World Golf Hall of Fame member, Se Ri Pak, announced the sponsorship on Monday, February 23, 2015 in Pattaya, Thailand, the site of 2015 Honda LPGA Thailand. The partnership will see Se Ri Pak using Volvik’s S3 – premium white color golf ball – as well as carrying Volvik brand on her golf bag.
Pak is the most celebrated professional golfer from Korea by wide margin. She made her debut on the LPGA tour in 1998 and has recorded 25 LPGA wins, including 5 major championships. She inspired the next generation of LPGA stars from Korea such as Inbee Park, So-yeon Ryu, Chella Choi, Na-yeon Choi, and Jiyai Shin, These players have cited Se Ri’s 1998 US Women’s Open victory as the moment that change their lives forever and are commonly referred as “Se Ri Kids.”
Kyung Ahn Moon, Volvik Chairman and CEO, said “It is fantastic to team-up with the most iconic professional Korean golfer, Se Ri Pak.” And added “As a leading representative of Korean golf brand, we would like to prove the quality of our premium golf balls. We are looking forward to showcasing the excellence of Korean golf industry through Se Ri.”
Pak replied “I’m very excited to join Team Volvik before competing in Honda LPGA Thailand. During my winter training this year, I’ve tested the Volvik white color S3 and really became a believer in this product. I am quite confident this change will enhance my performance on tour this year and, hopefully, help with my goal of achieving the career grand slam in 2015.
Already a deep roster full of top Korean players on the LPGA tour including Chella Choi, Mi Hyang Lee, and Ilhee Lee among them, Team Volvik welcomes Se Ri Pak to their team as it looks to continue its impressive business growth on a global stage.
