Career

  • In 1993, posted her first career hole-in-one during the first round of the PING/Welch’s Championship in Tucson.

  • 1986 remains her best year when she collected her first tournament victory at the Chrysler-Plymouth Classic, tied for second at the Mazda Japan Classic, tied for third at the Mazda Classic and tied for fourth at the McDonald’s Championship.

  • She tied her career-low round of 66 during the 1986 LPGA Championship.

  • Had her most successful financial season in 1986 by winning $155,244.

  • In 1990, she improved her scoring average by almost two strokes from 1989’s average with 73.73.

    Amateur
    Pearson laid the groundwork for her professional career as a Minnesota amateur. She captured the Minnesota State Junior in 1972 and 1973 and was a quarter-finalist the following year in the USGA Girls Junior. An All-American golfer in 1978 at Florida International University, Pearson also was a semi-finalist in the 1978 Doherty Challenge Cup and a runner-up in the 1979 USGA Public Links Championship.
