Bauer’s junior credentials include victories at the 1977 Texas State High School Championship and Texas State Junior Championship, as well as a USGA Junior Girls semifinalist appearance. A collegiate player for Texas A&M, Bauer attained one All-America honor, two All-Regional honors and three All-State honors. In 1980, Bauer was a U.S. Women’s Amateur quarterfinalist. She was elected Outstanding Senior Athlete at Texas A&M in 1981.
