Career
Cassaday played in 23 events during the 1988 season with a tie for 22nd at the Lady Keystone Open her top finish. The native of California holds the nine-hole record at the Konica San Jose Classic where, in 1987, she posted six birdies en route to a 30 on the front nine. Cassaday enjoyed her best season in 1985 when she finished in the top 60 on the money list with over $40,000. The previous season she recorded her career-best finish with a solo third in the Atlantic Potamkin Classic. Prior to joining the LPGA Tour, Cassaday played the mini-tour where she was a three-time victor.

Amateur
Having entered Southern Methodist University to pursue an education degree, golf was merely a hobby for Cassaday-until her junior year. SMU coach Earl Stewart, Jr. drafted Cassaday as one of four original members of the SMU golf squad and she played for three years, extending her college stay by one year.
