5’4’…Instructed throughout her career by her father, Cliff, and by Elmer Prieskorn…Enjoys gardening, needlepoint and travel…In 1979 she was named Canada’s Female Athlete of the Year, and also won the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada’s Outstanding Athlete of the Year.
Career
Post enjoyed a storybook rookie season in 1968. She made the LPGA Championship her first career victory defeating Kathy Whitworth in a playoff at age 19 and was named Rookie of the Year. She did not win again for ten years, but in 1978 emerged as one of the Tour’s premier players winning twice. The next year she won three times, including an unprecedented second consecutive Dinah Shore title en route to placing second on the money list with almost $180,000. A victory at the 1981 McDonald’s Kids Classic gave Sandra a victory for the fourth straight year as she finished among the top 15 money winners for the eighth straight season. In her 16th campaign, Post decided to take the second half of 1983 season off. In just 14 events, Post managed to make more money then she did in all of 1982. She backed an eighth place tie at the CPC International in May with a solo second at the Lady Michelob the following week.

A native Canadian, Post won both the Ontario and Canadian Junior Championships three times each.
