  • Prior to joining the LPGA, Smyers won three tournaments on the Women's Professional Golf Tour mini-tour and finished tied for 18th at the 1983 U.S. Women's Open Championship.
  • Her 1986 season-best finish was a seventh-place performance at the Women's Kemper Open.
  • Participated in just two events in 1990 due to the birth of her first child, Trent, on June 16th. Placed third in the 1990 Daikyo Challenge in Australia less than one month before Trent was born.
  • Placed second on the 1991 Australian Order of Merit.
  • Played just one event in 1992 due to the birth of her second child, son Scott, born on July 27, 1992. Competed on the Australian Tour in 1992, where she posted her career-low round of 65 (-8) in the Takano Yuri Ladies Open in Perth. Finished fifth on the Australian Order of Merit in 1992.
  • In 1995, her best finish was a tie for 11th at the Youngstown-Warren LPGA Classic. Recorded a new career-low scoring average in 1995 with 73.25.
  • In 1996 earned $35,762, which marks the best financial season of her career. Recorded a new career-best finish with a tie for fifth at the 1996 Cup Noodles Hawaiian Ladies Open.
  • Posted a new LPGA career-low score of 67 during the second round of the 1997 Rochester International and again during the first round of the State Farm Rail Classic.


    The list of Smyers' junior credits includes victories in the 1979 and 1980 New South Wales State Junior, the 1980 Queensland State, the 1980 Victorian State and the New Zealand under 25. In 1980, she finished second at the New South Wales Open Amateur.
