2017 Solheim Cup Team Europe

Georgia Hall

Georgia Hall (ENG)

  • Qualification: Solheim Cup Points (149.08)
  • Appearances: Rookie
  • Overall Record: N/A
  • Points Won: N/A

Although she has yet to win on the Ladies European Tour, Georgia Hall has been a consistent performer since her rookie year in 2015 and lead the LET in top-10 finishes. The rookie has never played a Solheim Cup, but has played in a Junior Solheim Cup (2013) and Curtis Cup (2014) on U.S. soil.

Florentyna Parker

Florentyna Parker (ENG)

  • Qualification: Solheim Cup Points (103.50)
  • Appearances: Rookie
  • Overall Record: N/A
  • Points Won: N/A

Florentyna Parker is another rookie on Team Europe this year but does have experience of a Curtis Cup under her belt, in which Jodi Ewart Shadoff was a part of in 2008. She also has three Ladies European Tour wins to her name, including one at the 2017 Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open where she defeated Carlota Ciganda and Anna Nordqvist in a playoff.

Mel Reid

Mel Reid (ENG)

  • Qualification: Solheim Cup Points (89.25)
  • Appearances: 2011, 2015
  • Overall Record: 4-3-1
  • Points Won: 4.5

The 2017 Solheim Cup will be Mel Reid's third appearance in the matches and she will be hoping to pick up where she left off in 2015. Despite the USA completing a record comeback victory, Reid found herself unbeaten for the week. This consisted of two foursomes wins, a singles win and a half in the day-one fourballs. A rookie this season on the LPGA Tour, Reid also picked up a victory on the LET at the Oates Victorian Open at the start of the year.

Jodi Ewart Shadoff

Jodi Ewart Shadoff (ENG)

  • Qualification: Solheim Cup Points (83.25)
  • Appearances: 2013
  • Overall Record: 2-1-0
  • Points Won:2

Jodi Ewart Shadoff has only made one appearance at the Solheim Cup back in 2013, when she pick up two points for the winning European side. Her 3&2 victory over Brittany Lincicome was impressive and Annika Sorenstam will have the chance to pair her with Charley Hull again, after the duo beat Paula Creamer and Lexi Thompson in the day two fourballs in 2013.

Carlota Ciganda

Carlota Ciganda (ESP)

  • Qualification: Rolex Points (20)
  • Appearances: 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 4-1-2
  • Points Won: 5

Carlota Ciganda’s first Solheim Cup in 2013 was one to remember for the Spaniard, as she won the three matches she played, including a singles defeat of Morgan Pressel. As Europe’s highest ranked automatic qualifier, Ciganda could be a big help to the rookies on the team. Ciganda comes into the Solheim Cup off the back of a strong season on the LPGA Tour, where she has yet to miss a cut in 2017.

Charley Hull

Charley Hull (ENG)

  • Qualification: Rolex Points (25)
  • Appearances: 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 6-2-0
  • Points Won: 6

When Charley Hull made her Solheim Cup debut in 2013, she became the youngest player in the history of the event at 17-years-old. That year, she also comfortably defeated Solheim veteran Paula Creamer, 5&4, in the singles. Her record in 2015 was impressive as she picked up four points from the fourballs and foursomes matches, but lost to Cristie Kerr in the singles. Her points percentage of 75% could be a great help to Europe in 2017.

Karine Icher

Karine Icher (FRA)

  • Qualification: Rolex Points (42)
  • Appearances: 2002, 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 5-4-1
  • Points Won:5.5

Karine Icher has been on one winning European side in 2013 and has steadily improved her results year after year. Fourballs are Icher’s strength as she has picked up three points for her side. In her first fourball match in 2002, Icher and Sophie Gustafson lost 4&3 but since then, Icher has won every fourball match she has played.

Anna Nordqvist

Anna Nordqvist (SWE)

  • Qualification: Captain's Pick
  • Appearances: 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 8-7-1
  • Points Won: 8.5

After missing out on the chance of automatic qualification after she did not play the required number events on the Ladies European Tour, the highest ranked European in the world was always going to be a captain’s pick. She has a great Solheim record and who can forget that hole in one at the 2013 Solheim Cup to win her foursomes match on 17 alongside Caroline Hedwall.

Caroline Masson

Caroline Masson (GER)

  • Qualification: Captain's Pick
  • Appearances: 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 2-3-2
  • Points Won: 3

Caroline Masson makes her third Solheim Cup appearance in a row for Team Europe after being selected by Annika Sorenstam. Fourballs are where Europe will get the most from Masson as she won both matches alongside Caroline Hedwall in 2013 and is the only format where she has picked up a win.

Emily K Pedersen

Emily Kristine Pedersen (DEN)

  • Qualification: Captain's Pick
  • Appearances: Rookie
  • Overall Record: N/A
  • Points Won: N/A

Although yet to win on her rookie season on the LPGA Tour, the Dane has enjoyed a steady year and is yet to miss a cut. Her best finish this season is a T13 at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, however she has won before on the Ladies European Tour back in 2015 when she won the Hero Women’s Indian Open.

Madelene Sagstrom

Madelene Sagstrom (SWE)

  • Qualification: Captain's Pick
  • Appearances: Rookie
  • Overall Record: N/A
  • Points Won: N/A

Madelene Sagstrom makes her rookie Solheim Cup appearance with her captain’s pick. The LPGA rookie has had an up and down season missing eight cuts but has also put in some solid performances finishing T4 at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and a T7 at the Kingsmill Championship presented by JTBC.

Catriona Matthew

Catriona Matthew (SCO)

  • Qualification: Captain's Pick (replacing Suzann Pettersen)
  • Appearances: 1998, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015
  • Overall Record: 15-10-8
  • Points Won: 19

Catriona Matthew features in Team Europe as both a vice-captain and a player at the 2017 Solheim Cup, as an alternate pick. The Scot will make her ninth appearance on Team Europe after Suzann Pettersen pulled out of the side due to a back injury.
