One little girl dreamt of walking inside the ropes during an LPGA event, and last week at the HUGEL-AIR PREMIRA LA Open that dream came true when she stepped inside with Sandra Gal.
The father, of one of the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf members, shared with us his daughter’s experience when she participated in the Walk with Sandra program last Friday:
The girls had a fantastic day. Sandra was so friendly, and she treated them just like a peer. I can’t thank her enough. Also, Coach Jen Birmingham for nominating them! Thank you so much. She is still bouncing around this morning, watching highlights on the Golf Channel.
We were talking about how the players played individual holes and why. It’s an excellent experience that I know she will never forget.
Girls Golf is such an amazing organization. We were talking about it this past weekend. It gives the girls a chance to express themselves and learn to be comfortable with themselves, all during a time, those teen years, when no one knows how to be comfortable.
Not only allows them but Girls Golf encourages them to express themselves. We have seen how they become more comfortable talking in front of people — wanting to help others. It’s great to see as a father. The women are so much more accessible. They are walking around after rounds and engaging the girls. It was a great experience for Juliana, something she will never forget. Especially if she ends up on the inside one day herself, never know!
Happy National Golf Day!
