Every tournament win is special in its own way. When Hyo Joo Kim won the 2014 Amundi Evian Championship just two months past her 19th birthday, she earned LPGA Tour Membership.
This week’s LOTTE Championship may not be as life-changing for Kim. But by finally winning the LOTTE Championship in her 10th try, Kim finally won the tournament that is perhaps one of the most special on her annual calendar.
“I have been playing LOTTE Championship since the inaugural championship, and then because of this being my sponsor I always wanted to win and do well,” said Kim. “I guess so far, the records are not as I expected, as I would expect, and it was a little sad personally for me. However, I prepared a lot for this year's championship so it's all the more meaningful and special for me to win this championship this year.”
