Linn Grant's talent was on full display at the Dana Open, and the 24-year-old became a Rolex First-Time winner after firing four rounds in the 60s at Highland Meadows Golf Club. As a result, she moved up seven spots in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings to No. 21. In addition to her win, the Swede has one other top-10 result and has finished in the top 20 in three of her six total starts this year. She became the second player to win on the LPGA Tour and LET this season – Grant won the Jabra Ladies Open in May – and joins Ashleigh Buhai as the only other player to do so. Buhai won the Investec South African Women's Open on the LET in March and the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer in June.
Allisen Corpuz Moves to Fourth in Race to CME Globe Standings
U.S. Women's Open champion Allisen Corpuz did her best to earn back-to-back victories but failed to slam the door shut on her second win at the Dana Open. With her runner-up finish, major win and two additional top-10 results, she moved from eighth to fourth in the Race to the CME Globe standings. She also ranks first on the Official Money List with $2,641,767 earned this season and is second in the Rolex Player of the Year standings with 95 points. After all her recent success, Corpuz is taking a well-deserved week off before next week's Amundi Evian Championship in France.
Duncan on the Rise
Lindy Duncan recorded a 6-under par 65 on Sunday at the Dana Open, one of the lowest rounds of the week in Sylvania, Ohio. Her third-place finish last week in the Buckeye State sent her soaring up the Rolex Rankings as she jumped up 89 spots to No. 190 in the world.
Before last week, Duncan had made four prior starts this season on the LPGA Tour and four starts on the Epson Tour. She has struggled on the LPGA in the past few years and lost her full status, but in her four starts this season on the Epson Tour, she has three top-10 finishes. The former Duke University All-American and 2014 LPGA Tour rookie says a change in mindset was the key to her success.
"I've had a lot of time to think because I haven't been full status for a couple years,” said Duncan on Sunday. “So I've been thinking about a lot of things. I just love the game, so I keep at it."
While Duncan's move in the Rolex Rankings was notable, her move in the Race to the CME Globe standings will likely be more significant at the end of the season. Members finishing in the top 80 and ties on the previous season-ending Points List earn full status for the next season, and Duncan's jump from No. 154 to No. 62 just might prove to be the difference when it comes to her 2024 LPGA Tour status.
Yin Holds Early Lead in Season-Long Awards
