Amateur
Furlong attended Texas A&M University, where she was named an All-American in 1982 and 1983. She claimed the Texas AIAW State Championship in 1982. At home in San Antonio, Furlong won the City Women’s Amateur Championship (1979, 1981-82). Furlong was a quarterfinalist in the 1977 Women’s Western.
