Trish Johnson
Johnson has found the most success in the early stages of the Senior LPGA Championship’s inception. The three-time LPGA Tour champion won the inaugural event in 2017 at French Lick Resort (Pete Dye Course) and picked up her second victory in 2021 at the same venue. To go along with her three wins on the LPGA Tour, Johnson has 19 Ladies European Tour victories and is used to being in the winner’s circle. A T17 finish in 2022 was not where Johnson was hoping to find herself, but now she is back in a state where she has found success, so expect a good week out of the two-time champion.
Angela Stanford
Making her Senior LPGA Championship debut this week is Angela Stanford. The American has had an impressive career on the LPGA Tour and will look to start her Legend Tour career on a solid note. Stanford picked up hardware seven times in her LPGA Tour career, one of which was a major championship at the 2018 Evian Championship. Her last victory on the LPGA Tour came in 2020 at the Volunteers of America Classic, where she won by two shots. Stanford wants to become the second straight player to win in their inaugural event at the Senior LPGA Championship.
Laura Diaz
In the 2022 Senior LPGA Championship, Diaz finished in solo third behind Webb and Sorenstam. She was three shots clear of fourth place when the final putt dropped for the week, showing her game is still there to compete. Diaz won two times on the LPGA Tour, with both wins coming during her 2002 campaign, which also included 10 top-10 finishes. The New York native also represented the USA at the Solheim Cup four times in her career. She enters the week looking to pick up her second career Legends Tour victory and her first win since 2021.
