Known as a great risk, reward hole, the par-5, 12th hole saw almost 60% of the field going for the green last year. With no bunkers or hazards off the tee, water looms in front of the green, forcing players to decide what to do with their second shot.
If the fairway is found, players will face an important decision whether to go for the green or lay up short of the water. Last year, 60% of the field went for the green, with 40% of the field who went for it successfully finding the green.
In 2023, 17% more players went for the green in two compared to 2022. There is no hole that plays more into power players’ strengths than the 12th hole at Upper Montclair.
