Second Round

(Just a reminder. I'm riding on a cart around the course there are bound to be typos. It's not easy to type on this thing. Also...a lot of our yardages are guesses so take them for what they are worth. Enjoy)

Time for round two. It's 9:57 and we're off and running. Annika is paired with Laura Diaz. She's decked out in a bright blue shirt and white pants.

Annika's tee shot found the middle of the fairway . Her second shot landed about 10 feet below the pin.

Annika's first putt missed by about a foot. She's setting up for her par putt. And she made it for par.

Time for #2. Annika hit first off the tee. Her ball is in the middle of the fairway. She will be hitting first. Laura's ball went a bit further but is in the left rough.

It's another family affair out here today. We have Charolotta along with Annika's mom and dad.

Annika's second shot just missed the green. She's off to the right below the pin.

Annika chipped up onto the green. She missed her other putts and the crowds were groaning. She tapped in for double bogey.

Hole #3. Par 5. 482 yards.

Annika hit second off the tee. Her ball is of course in the middle of the fairway. Laura's ball is just off to Annika's right.

Annika's second shot landed about 30 feet from the green. Her third shot was a chip that landed about four feet from the hole.

She missed her first putt and sank her par putt.

#4. 364 yards.

Annika's tee shot landed about 30 feet ahead Laura's in the fairway. Her second shot found the green about 15 feet below the hole. A round of applause was given for that shot.

Annika lined up for birdie and misses. She taps in for par.

She can't catch a break today with her putting. Today is the day she needs to make up some ground but it just isn't happening yet.

Annika hit second off the tee. It's our first par three of the day. She set her ball, took a practice swing and let it rip. Her tee shot found the green but was about 15 feet from the hole. She missed her birdie putt.

The gallery is also talking about how Annika use a break. She just can't get the putts to drop. Annika makes her par and she's still two back on the day and four-under overall.

Charlotta says, "This is it...now the lid is open."

We caught up with Annika's mom and dad and they said she's going to make all of her putts from now on. Let's hope a cheer from mom and dad will turn things around.

We had a bit of a wait on the tee box on six. We were waiting for the group in front of us to clear. Her crowd has significantly grown over the last few holes.

Annika hit second. We're stuck behind a large group of followers so I have no idea where her ball is. It looks to be to the left of the fairway.

Her second shot landed about 5 feet from the hole. She just missed her birdie putt left and ended with a par.

Hole 7. Par 3. 176 yards.

This is where Annika hit it in the water yesterday. Let's hope for a better tee shot. The wind is picking up just as it is Annika gets ready to hit her tee shot. She looks like she's ready to beat this hole today.

She hit the green and from here it looks to be about 30 feet from the hole. Phewww.

Her birdie attempt misses by about 3 feet. By the sound of the crowd she makes it for par.

Hole 8. Par 4. 405 yards.

Kai and Henri are here today. More good vibes coming her way.

Annika's tee shot. found the left rough just a little ahead of Laura. During her second shot she backed off the ball because the winds are picking up. After her shot the crowd cheered so it must have meant she hit the green. From here her ball looks to be towards the top right of the green.

Both players are greeted with lots of cheers at the green. Annika is about 14 feet from the hole. She misses her birdie putt and makes it for par.

Last hole on the front. Let's make something happen here. It's a par 5. 513 yards. Spectacular view coming into the clubhouse.

Annika is hitting first. We're a little too far back to see where it went.

We found Annika in the bunker off to the right. She advanced the ball. Her third shot will be from about 150 yards out. We asked Charlotte for the yardage.

Annika was concerned about the wind with her next shot. Her third shot landed just below the green to the left. She's right on top of a bunker. She has a very strange stance. She chipped up and the crowd cheered. We're still to far away to see how far she is from the pin.

Annika made bogey.

We're a little behind on #10. We had to make a crucial cart change. We had this beeping cart and it started beeping at all the wrong times. So we're up and running now and meeting Annika at the 10th green.

She looks to be about 9 feet from the hole. Wow. She just sank it for birdie. What a crowd reaction.

We're off and running on #11. Annika hit first with a 5-ion. It's our third par 3 and it is 158 yards.

We've got a fan following for our mobile blogging. A couple of people have figured out who we were and have told us how much they enjoyed the blog from yesterday. That's fun. Makes all of this very worthwhile.

Back to golf. Annika is very far from the pin. If I had to guess...and I guess I do...I would say 50 feet. It's a long one and it is below the hole.

Annika is really trying to get these putts to drop. She put her first putt about 10 feet past the hole. And finished with a par.

A couple more star sightings. Commissioner Bivens was at the 11th green. And then Dottie Pepper was at the tee box at 12.

We had a quick chat with Annika's fiance Mike McGee. He said, "Keep on cheering. She's pulled magic out of her hat before and she can do it again."

Annika hit first. We're carting along to find out where it went. Not chance at seeing Annika's ball right now. We're stuck in a traffic jam with the crowd. Laura hit it into the yucky stuff and everyone is crowded around. She's taking an unplayable. I'm right in all the action but I can't see a thing. Maybe you'll get to see it on TV.

Now to Annika. She appears to be toward the left side of the fairway. Now we're heading to the green.

While stuck in another crowd jam I was serving another purpose besides mobile blogging. Charlotta and her mom were standing on the back of our cart to see over the crowd. The fans were also happy to check out the leaderboard since I have wireless.

Back to golf. We're by the green. Laura had to chip up onto the green and Annika looks to be about 9 feet from the pin. She missed it by about 10 inches and tapped in.

We're now on 13. There are two fans with small Swedish flags cheering her on.

Her tee shot found the right side of the fairway. Her second shot is on the green. It found the far right side. The pin is tucked to the far right side. She's got a long putt for birdie.

Her first putt was short by about 2 feet. She makes her par putt. Now on to 14.

Annika's tee shot found the middle of the fairway. We pulled out the SkyCaddie and she is 150 yards to the pin and about 120 yards to the front of the green. Loud cheers by all because she's on the green. On this hole players have to hit up onto an elevated green. I can't even see the surface of the green from here.

Annika's birdie putt is from two feet. Unfortunately she missed it and tapped in for par.

Annika needs to make a move on these last four holes to make the cut. The cut is made today at the top 16 players. If there are any ties there will be a playoff

Annika's tee shot found the middle of the fairway just a bit behind Laura's. I can't see the green from here. So stayed tuned.

Annika's ball is about 30 feet above the hole.

We had another star sighting on 15. Donald Trump, Melania, and Barron Trump are out here watching with John Koch of ADT.

Back to golf. Annika missed her birdie putt by about 15 inches. Lots of cheers were heard as she tapped it in for birdie.

Only three holes to go. Annika is off and running on 16. We've got a large crowd still following along.

Mellissa from SkyCaddie went and checked out yardage for us. 222 off the tee. 153 to the pin. Thanks Mellissa. Annika's ball found the right side of the fairway.

She's on the green. There is a upper and lower tier and Annika's ball is on the lower part. She's going to really have to hit it to get it up to that top tier.

We're perched up on a hill pretty far from the green. It looks like Annika's ball rolled quite a ways past the whole. She missed her second putt and taps in for bogey.

Hole 17. Par 3. 168 yards.

The crowd is quite thick over here. We can barely get through. I couldn't see a thing when they teed off on 17. The players on the green and we're still inching out way over to them. Not sure what I can tell you

Sorry to tell you we've totally bypassed 17. We've got to get around the crowds to actually see what's happening on 18.

We're blocked in again. We got to the 18th tee box and two carts are blocking the path so we're suck. Now we're surrounded by fans. Help. Let us out.

I can't see a thing. All I heard was a tee shot. I'm not even sure who it was. There went the tee shot. Hopefully we can get through this crowd. They are going crazy and cheering her on for her final hole.

Annika hit it 240 off the tee to the middle of the fairway. Our SkyCaddie tells us she has 179 to the pin.

The walk up 18 for Annika will be a memorable one. The cheering was crazy and they didn't want to stop. She had her hat off waving to the crowd.

I'd say she's 20 feet above the pin. The wind is really whipping on 18 today. The crowd is huge. They are all here to witness history. This could be Annika's last official round on the LPGA Tour.

I heard the crowd groan. Looks like she missed her first putt. Her putt went in for par. She gave Terry a nice long hug and she put the flag stick back in the hole. And the crowd continues to cheer.

Annika finishes her day at five-over-par. It doesn't look like she's going to make the cut.

Annika, from me and all your fans, thanks for the great memories. Thanks for all that you've done for women's golf. Let's not call this a goodbye but a See you later!



First Round

Let's get this party started. It's 11:26. We're at the first tee at Trump International and the crowd is quite large. Annika is paired with Yani Tseng. She's decked out in black pants and a white and hot pink shirt. Terry and Annika are standing on the first tee just taking it all in.

Annika hit second and was greeted with loud cheers. They weren't your average golf clap. Her tee shot found the right rough. She was able to make it onto the green with her second shot. Annika faces about a 20-footer for birdie. The first putt just barely ran out of gas and she tapped in for par.

We've got Lorena Ochoa and Paula Creamer behind us. There should be some very large galleries for these final two groups today.

On the second hold Annika hit after Yani and her ball found the right of the fairway. We checked our SkyCaddie and she has approximately 180 yards. The pin is towards the back center part of the green.

I'm going to go ahead an appologize for typos because riding on a golf cart while typing is not easy. Especially when you're driver takes you up and over these mounds. Hopefully I won't fall out or loose my computer. Wish us luck.

Ok back to Annika. Her second shot on hole 2 found the rough to the right of the green.

Lots of cheers meant something good happened. Her chip from off the green almost went in. And with another tap in Annika is even through two.

Two holes down...16 more to go.

Time for hole 3. This is a really pretty hole. A large mound lines the right and a large pond on the left. The green looks to be surrounded by lots of sand.

Annika's tee shot found the first cut of rough on the right side of the fairway. She waited for the group in front of them to get off the green so she could try and make it in two.

Annika's second shot is on the dance floor in two. Her ball found the front tied of the green. The pin is placed towards the back left today. Yani putted first and made eagle. Annika got a good read from Yani and will attempt an eagle as well.

Annika missed her putt and lines back up for a second shot for birdie but had to tap in for par.

Annika was second off the tee. The crowd is still large. Annika mentioned in her press conference that she requested 50 tickets. I bet a lot of this crowd is her friends and family.

We found Mike McGee along the cart path. He spotted her ball for us and said it is right in the middle of the fairway about a hundred yards out.

Annika is on the green looking for a birdie. She's about 10 feet away. She must be disappointed after missing her eagle/birdie opportunity on the last hole.

She missed her birdie putt and it was another tap-in for par.

We're at our first par three of the day. It's 183 yards. A small pond is on the right followed by a long fairway bunker. The pin is set 26 paces front the front of the green and in the center.

Annika's tee shot found the green and she faces about a 30-footer for birdie. She missed her birdie putt by about a foot and missed the one coming back to finish with a bogey.

Annika sits at +1.

They are off and running on six. Annika's drive made it past Yani's. Her second shot from the middle of the fairway looks to be close to the pin.

Now that we're up here by the green I see that Annika's ball is about 3 feet from the pin. Her attempt slide right by the cup. Another tap in for par.

On to #7. Another par 3. Annika hit first. Her ball found the water just short of the green to the right.

Her shoes are coming off and she's getting in the water. Her pants are rolled up. She hit it out of the water and has about 30 feet and will be putting for par.

Annika misses the par putt and hits it in for bogey.

We're now at the eighth. Sorry for the delay. We lost internet for a couple of holes but now we're back in business.

Annika's tee shot found the middle of the fairway. Her second shot found the green and spun back and she's faced with a 20-footer for birdie.

I've spotted a few more of Annika's team members in the crowd. Henri her coach just made it to the 8th green and we passed her trainer Kai a few holes back. I've also seen her mom and dad in the crowd. It's a family affair today.

Both tee shots found the middle of the fairway. They looked to be about neck and neck. We have made our way up to the 9th green to hopefully fight through the crowd. A very large crowd has gathered to watch the final groups of the day come through.

Annika laid up to about 100 feet for her second shot. Her third shot took a big divot and she landed short of the green. She chipped up to the green and has a two footer for par.

Annika missed the par put and walks away with a bogey. Annika sits at 3+.

We're at the 388 yard par 4. Players have to hit it over a large pond to find the fairway on the left. Hopefully Annika can turn it around on the back nine.

Annika and Yani found the fairway. Annika's second shot wasn't as favorable. She sliced it and it bounced off the right side of the green, possibly into the water. We couldn't tell if it was in the rocks or if it fell into the water. She was not happy with this shot. Stay tuned.

Her ball ended up not being wet. She is able to chip up onto the green. Her chip ran 10 feet past the hole.

Annika missed her first putt and put her putt for bogey. in the hole.

Number 11 is our third par three. The pin is tucked in the front right corner. Annika's tee shot landed short of the green.

Annika putted from off the green. The putt slide by the hole and she tapped in for par.

We're now at the par 5 12th hole. Annika's tee shot landed in the right of the fairway. Our SkyCaddie says she has about 313 yards to the hole. With a SkyCaddie it's not all about the one yardage. You can find yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green. In this instance Annika had 280 yards to the front of the green.

The color of the day today is hot pink. I just stumbled upon Helen Alfredsson and Suzann Pettesen, who are in the group ahead of Annika, and they both have on hot pink as well.

Back to golf. Annika's second shot landed about a 100 yards from the green. Her third shot left her with a 10-footer for birdie.

The crowd showed their disappointment as Annika missed her birdie. And it was a tap in for par again.

On the 13th hole, Annika hit her drive to the middle of the fairway. SkyCaddie says it is about 170 from the pin.

Annika's second shot rolled onto the green. It looks to be about 20 feet from the pin.

The crowd was screeming go in but she just can't seem to catch a break. Her putt didn't drop and she tapped in.

Annika drove it right down the middle on 14. Her second shot hit the green within 15 feet and she sank it for birdie. Lots of cheers by all.

Annika hit her tee shot right down the middle. With her second shot she has 203 to the front of the green.

It seems that Annika and Yani are waiting for the green to clear so they can go for it in two. Annika ended up laying up to about 100 yards from the green.

Annika's third shot landed 5 feet from the hole and she will be putting for birdie.

There seems to be a bit of a delay. Yani lost her ball and after searching and searching she is going back 200 yards to hit again.

After patiently waiting Annika sinks her putt for birdie.

Three holes to go and Annika hit it down the middle. Her second shot landed pin high on the right side of the green. Annika really needs to finish with another birdie or two.

Annika finishes the hole with a two putt for par.

17 is the most difficult hole on the course. Players have won and lost the tournament on this very hole.

Annika's tee shot hit the green. She left herself with about a 20 footer for birdie. The putt just slide right past the hole and it was another tap in for par.

The 18th tee box is a beautiful sight. It sits atop a waterfall and offers a great view of the last hole.

Annika's final tee shot of the day found the middle of the fairway. The crowd is chanting her name.

Thanks to SkyCaddie we know that Annika's second shot is about 177 yards to the front of the green. Her shot landed on the middle tier of the green. She will have to put up onto the top tier.

Annika is welcomed by an abundance of cheers from the crowd. Her first putt came up a little short and is left with a one footer for par.

With a par on 18 Annika finishes at 2-over-par.
