A look at some of the top player picks for the Reignwood LPGA Classic, the first of five consecutive LPGA tournaments in Asia:
- So Yeon Ryu: Ryu is fourth on this season’s money list and has seven top-10 finishes – including three in major championships – but hasn’t won yet. She will be inspired right from the outset this week thanks to a pairing with South Korean friend Inbee Park and China’s Shanshan Feng.
- Shanshan Feng: Feng recorded the biggest win in Chinese golf last year when she won the Wegmans LPGA Championship. This is a chance to celebrate at home and focus on capturing her first title of 2013.
- Stacy Lewis: Last year en route to the Rolex Player of the Year award, Lewis started the season-ending Asian Swing slowly before winning in Japan. This time, she needs to take advantage quickly to have a glimmer of hope for challenging Inbee Park down the stretch.
- Michelle Wie: When Wie toured The Great Wall of China earlier this week, she remembered visiting there at age 8. With her 24th birthday approaching next Friday and both of her previous LPGA victories occurring internationally (in Canada and Mexico), could this be the week her game re-emerges?
