A look at some of the top player picks for the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship, scheduled to begin Friday in South Korea:
- Na Yeon Choi: Choi hasn’t won yet this year, but all signs point toward success this week. She can follow the trend at her home country tournament where seven of the 11 winners have been South Koreans, including her two wins in 2009 and 2010. Choi finished fifth two weeks ago in China and shot 68-68-66 in the final three rounds last week in Malaysia to finish T15.
- Michelle Wie: An American has never won this tournament and Wie has never won an LPGA event in America (wins in Canada and Mexico) so maybe this is the week. Wie finished T12 in Malaysia last week and had a second-round 66 that tied her low round of the season.
- Karine Icher: Icher has two top-10 finishes since August, including a T6 last week in Malaysia that included a second-round 66.
- Yani Tseng: Even though Tseng hasn’t won since March 2012, she has never finished worse than third in this South Korean event, including a victory in 2011. She finished 66th last week in Malaysia despite a final-round 81 that included a nine on the par-3 15th hole.
