A look at some of the top player picks for the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup, the first United States event on the 2013 LPGA schedule. The 72-hole tournament begins Thursday in Phoenix, Ariz.:
• Yani Tseng: Next week marks one year since Tseng's last victory on the LPGA. Also, Na Yeon Choi (No. 2) and Stacy Lewis (No. 3) are within striking distance of the No. 1 player in the Rolex Women's World Rankings. Therefore, Tseng comes through again after beginning the season with two top-10s in her first three starts.
• Azahara Munoz: Even though the Spaniard hasn't fared so well here (cut in 2011 and T48 last year), she knows the territory as she attended Arizona State and won an NCAA individual title and led the Sun Devils to a team title. So home cooking may be a factor. Plus, she opened with a 65 at the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore two weeks ago.
• Cristie Kerr: Kerr has the best record of anyone is the first two tournaments here - finishing fourth and T6. In seven rounds, she has scored in the 60s five times and has only one round over par.
• Mindy Kim: Kim is one of only two players to record two top-10 finishes in the first two years of this event (Cristie Kerr is the other). Yet to win on the LPGA, Kim has excelled at the Wildfire Golf Club with seven rounds of par or better, including a 67 two years ago.
