Five-year LPGA Tour member Ai Miyazato is continuing a year of winning ways by posting her 15th international victory this past weekend at the Sankyo Ladies Open on the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA) tour. A five-stroke, come-from-behind win, Miyazato finished with a one-stroke victory over 36-hole leader Mi-Jeong Jeon, of Korea, and fellow countrywoman Mayu Hattori. The event came down to the closing holes as Jeon held a four-stroke lead over Miyazato at the turn, but Miyazato carded three birdies in her first four holes of the back nine. On the final two holes, the difference in the round were Miyazato pars against consecutive double bogeys by Jeon.
On the LPGA Tour, Miyazato became a Rolex First-Time Winner in July with her victory at the Evian Masters. The recent victory on the JLPGA for Miyazato was her first since 2006.
