The week of the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola started off with three players being recognized by Ambassadors from their home countries.

Dorothy Delasin and Jennifer Rosales, the victorious 2008 Women's World Cup of Golf team, met Ambassador Gaa from the Philippines on Monday, who presented the women with the Golden Cultural Heritage Award as well as pinned them with the flag from the Philippines. The awards read, "For her outstanding and meritorious contributions to raising awareness of and deepening appreciation for the Philippines, her culture and her peoples through excellence at the highest levels in the field of professional golf."

"It's a great honor to represent the Philippino community and to inspire young Philippino golfers," Delasin said.

Rosales agreed.

"I was shocked," she said. "It is an honor to get this award, especially from the Ambassador. It makes me happy and feel like I've done my job for my country."
