Cristie Kerr Birdies for Breast Cancer Event

Lady Liberty once again provided the backdrop for the Cristie Kerr Birdies for Breast Cancer Celebrity Golf Classic. The Rolex Rankings No. 2 and 14-time LPGA Tour winner Kerr hosted her annual event Thursday at Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey. The event raises funds for the newly opened Cristie Kerr Women's Health Center which provides digital mammography screening for both insured and uninsured patients in Hudson County.

Each amateur group played a round of golf with an LPGA professional or celebrity. LPGA players and celebrities included Natalie Gulbis, Morgan Pressel, Amanda Blumenherst, Jimin Kang, Michelle McGann, Kelli Kuehne, Hee Young Park, Boston Celtics star Ray Allen, former NY Mets catcher Mike Piazza, NBC sportscaster Dan Hicks, Gossip Girl star Matthew Settle and PGA Tour winner Curtis Strange.

After golf, the fun moved inside to the sounds of the Doug Flutie Band. Amateurs and celebrities had the chance to sample Kerr's own wine label, Curvature, at the cocktail party. After dinner attendees participated in a competitive poker match. The winner received an Audemars Piguet watch.

Kerr has raised more that $650,000 for her Birdies for Breast Cancer charity which she founded shortly after her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with the disease.
