Junior golfers from the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf site at The First Tee of Central Arkansas met up with the stars of the LPGA at the P&G NW Arkansas Championship Presented by Walmart. Dodging raindrops, the girls made the three hour journey from Little Rock to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. When the pro-am was cancelled, the juniors made their way to the Embassy Suites where they met comedic actor George Lopez. After that, they headed to Pinnacle Country Club to meet with LPGA players, including LPGA-USGA Girls Golf National Ambassador Brittany Lincicome, Rolex Rankings No. 2 Jiyai Shin, No. 3 Cristie Kerr and No. 7 Michelle Wie and No. 15 Morgan Pressel. Both Pressel and Lincicome were introduced to the game through LPGA-USGA Girls Golf (Girls Golf) .
Girls Golf is the LPGA's primary junior golf initiative which introduces girls from the ages of 7 to 17 to all areas of the game. The program also teaches the values inherent in the game itself - patience, perseverance, honesty, and respect, providing young girls with the building blocks to become future role models both on and off the golf course. Girls Golf is supported by all of the major golf organizations including the USGA, EWGA, PGA Tour, PGA of America and the Masters.
