I can’t really say much for the so-called “winter” here in Florida. It puts a good English summer to shame! I have to say I was kind of missing the colder weather by the time December arrived. Even New Mexico gave me a decent attempt at a winter for my four years of college. I was excited to get home for some colder weather for the winter break, but all that lasted about a day as I was soon wishing myself back to the beach in Sarasota, FL. I have to admit though it was nice to bring out the ‘winter closet’ and wear something other than shorts and flip-flops! It was also nice to consume some of England’s “finest” foods; mince pies, sausage rolls, fish and chips, Cadbury chocolate, Galaxy chocolate, pretty much all chocolate, and of course a nice cuppa tea! I also got to go to a football game, and by football I mean the proper kind, not the American type! That said it was great to see my family and friends for a few weeks, I hadn’t been home for over a year so it was nice to put the clubs away (although I did manage to hit some balls, even if it was in the snow) and have a good catch up!
For now it’s go, go, go, even though the season has yet to start for me. I’ve been given such an awesome opportunity to perfect my game at the IMG David Leadbetter Academy in Bradenton, FL. I’ve been working hard over the past few months and it’s difficult not to see the results when you have access to world-class facilities and coaching! My main focus over the off-season has been my short game and fitness. I’m seeing great results in both areas and I couldn’t be more excited to finally start the season!
I have yet to play in an LPGA event and I can’t even express enough how eager I am to tee it up with the best in the world! I have been waiting my whole life to finally say I’m an LPGA rookie. Well, the time has finally come and I hope everyone follows my progress this year!! Watch out for me soon on the LPGA Futures tour too. I’ll be blogging as often as I can so don’t forget to keep checking back!
