LPGA expands schedule to 27 events in ’12

The LPGA’s third-year commissioner has boosted the number of tournaments from 23 to 27, adding four full-field events, plus the return of the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, according to the schedule released late Tuesday. The number of domestic events increased from 13 to 15. Only the State Farm Classic in Springfield, Ill., will not return. Read more >>

LPGA adds four tournaments

The LPGA Tour begins its new season with four additional tournaments and a lot more reason for optimism.
Just as it looked as though the tour would suffer irreparable harm from the economic downturn, Commissioner Mike Whan delivered a schedule of 27 tournaments worth $47 million (36.8 million euros) in prize money, signaling a strong recovery. Read More >>
BREAKING NEWS: LPGA returns to Kingsmill in 2012

The LPGA is returning to Kingsmill in September after a two-year absence, the LPGA announced late Tuesday night.
In releasing its 2012 schedule, the LPGA is adding five events and losing one, the State Farm Classic. The Kingsmill Championship, sponsored by Kingsmill and new owner Xanterra, will take place Sept. 6-9, the week before the LPGA’s British Open. In 2013 Kingsmill revert to a May date after holding the tournament on Mother’s Day weekend for years. Read more >>
