Stacy Lewis captures the “Alabama Slam” after carding an 18-under 270 to take the Navistar LPGA Classic title with a 2-stroke lead over defending champion Lexi Thompson. This isn’t the first time the two finished within shots of each other, as Lewis defeated Thompson by one-stroke to win the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic earlier this year.

This marks her fourth career LPGA victory with her first coming at the 2011 Kraft Nabsico Championship. With this win, Lewis solidifies her lead in the Rolex Player of the Year points with 184 points and a 56-point lead over Jiyai Shin, seeking to become the first American Player of the Year since Beth Daniel in 1994. She also regains the No. 2 spot in the Rolex Rankings from Na Yeon Choi. A $195,000 first-place check takes her season earnings to $1,598,596 to stand at second behind Inbee Park.

Log on to later today for more extensive notes and interviews from the Navistar LPGA Classic.
