Lexi Thompson Earns Kia Most Compelling Performance with First Major Win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 5, 2014 - Lexi Thompson clinched her first major victory after beating Michelle Wie at this year’s Kraft Nabisco Championship. Thompson, at age 19, became the second youngest winner at a major and has been named the Kia Most Compelling Performance for the month of April.
The victory makes it Thompson’s fourth-career LPGA title, all of which have come when she slept on the lead heading into Sunday’s final round.
Paula Creamer earned the award for the month of March with the 75-foot eagle putt that captured the HSBC Women’s Championship in Singapore. The victory ended a four-year winless drought, and marked her 10th career LPGA Tour win.
