Sixteen of the top-20 golfers on the LPGA Official Money List will compete for the $270,000 champion's share. The most notable first-time competitors are 19 year-old rookie Michelle Wie, who comes to Arkansas following a breakout performance at the LPGA's Solheim Cup, and Yani Tseng, the second-ranked golfer in the world.
The tournament will also have 11 of the 12 U.S. members from the winning Solheim Cup team. This includes Cristie Kerr (ranked 3rd in the world), Paula Creamer (ranked 4th) and Angela Stanford (ranked 8th). Kerr is also the leading money-winner on the LPGA Tour this season.
"This field is truly world class and is undoubtedly the best in our young history in Northwest Arkansas," said Tournament Chairman Jay Allen.
Former Arkansas women's golfer Lucy Nunn and Russian-born Maria Verchenova received the tournament's two sponsor exemptions. Two golfers will earn the final spots in the field via an 18-hole qualifying round at Pinnacle on Tuesday, September 8.
Daily tickets are $15 Tuesday - Thursday of tournament week and $25 for championship play, Friday - Sunday. Week-long tickets can be purchased for $50. Fans can purchase online at www.PGBeautyChampionship.com or by calling (479) 715-6100. The tournament recently announced that Travis Tritt will perform a free, outdoor concert in association with the event that will be held on Dickson Street in Fayetteville.
