ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 4, 2010 - The LPGA is seeking volunteers for the LPGA Tour Championship Nov. 29 - Dec. 5, 2010 at the Grand Cypress Golf Club. Committees needing assistance include gallery control (marshals), merchandise, on-course services, professional services and volunteer services.
"The volunteer experience can certainly be a rewarding one," said Kelly Hyne, tournament director. "Volunteers get to see the inner workings of a tournament and play a valuable role in making it a success."
The $55 cost includes a volunteer package with a Nike tournament golf shirt, Nike visor or ball cap, a tournament drawstring bag, a volunteer badge lanyard, one volunteer badge (weekly ground pass), one complimentary weekly grounds ticket for a guest, one lunch voucher for each day worked, and complimentary greens fees for a round of golf at Grand Cypress Resort (volunteer is responsible for $20 cart fee). The package is a $300 value.
Volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of three 4-6 hour shifts in order to participate, must be at least 18 years of age by November 29, 2010 unless legal guardian waiver is signed (minimum age of 13 required to volunteer) and must be able to stand/walk for elongated periods of time.

The 2010 LPGA Tour Championship field will feature 120 LPGA professionals vying for a $1.5 million purse. For the second season, the unique format will see a cut after 36 holes to low-70 players and ties and an additional cut after 54 holes to the low-30 players and ties.
